SOURCE: how to fit oven bulb

You should have a glass cover over the bulb itself. It may either screw on or it may have 2 or 3 screws at the base of the glass to take out. Then you should be able to unscrew the bulb as you would any other light bulb in your house. You will want to replace it with another appliance bulb 40 watt. If you have another type bulb or set up in your oven let me know and we will work through it.

SOURCE: trying to unscrew bulb cover in a neff oven

Hi, DO NOT use WD40. Take a small towel or a rubber pad and grasp the lens with the palm of your hand. Turn it counter clockwise to release it.
It is very thick glass so, it should not break.
You might try to tighten it first. Sometimes a little nudge to tighten it will free it up.
I hope this helps you.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

SOURCE: How do I change the bulb in an Inglis oven. Can't

Normally the cover will have an anticlockwise turn thread. Twist the glass cover anti clockwise and it should unscrew.

SOURCE: unable to remove the glass cover to change the light bulb in oven

I went out and bought a 4 inch strap wrench from LOWE's. I had never heard of one before. After figuring out from the diagram how to use it, I wrapped it around the glass bulb cover and did a counterclockwise twist and off it came. P.S. I'm a girl so I feel pretty good about that project

SOURCE: Oven light is out and

try wearing a pair of rubber clothes and if looking up at the cover, ensure you are turning the cover counter clockwise.
If you have used wd40 ensure you remove all residue before using the oven as there is a chance it could ignite.

Hi there, We are in a rental with an old Simpson Mercury stove and the oven light has blown. How do I get the light cap off? Many thanks Diane

it will be difficult
it is a normal thread in the glass cover and the problem is that burnt on fat is in the threads making like loctite
you will need strong hands or a tool like multi grips to turn the glass
make sure that you have the correct bulb as normal bulbs are not heated Pyrex treated glass to withstand the oven temperature and are only available from service agent spares or from the manufacturer

In most ovens, move the metal bracket to one side. the glass dome cover should fall out. Unscrew the old bulb. Screw in the new bulb. Place the glass dome cover back over the bulb. Move the metal bracket to hold on the glass dome cover. Easy job to do.

We have a multifunction freestyle over 698 and want to change the light inside the oven. how do we do this

The glass cover over the bulb should screw off, remove the bulb and replace it with a new one of the correct type. Clean and replace the glass cover. Be careful not to use force which could break the glass and cause an injury. Make sure that the stove main switch is off. (The lamp cover may have a screw type or have a bayonet fitting).

Hi I have a stoves 720EF oven and grill, and the light bulbs need replacing. the instructions are not clear enough! It says to grasp the back edge of the light cover and move forward. There aren't any...

As you have found out the covers are made of glass and can get very hot, so don't attempt this if the oven has been on for even a little while. You may not have noticed it but in the centre of the edge of the glass cover facing you when you look in the oven, there is a small recess in the glass adjacent to the oven wall. It is probably covered up by grease etc. It is in the centre about 1cm long and about 3mm deep. You will need a screwdriver ( an old blunt one is best so there is no sharp edges) that just fits into the recess length wise and then twist it. This should start to prise the cover away from the oven wall and then you can get your fingers behind it to pull it away. Note the cut out on the edge of the glas when refitting. This is to allow for the lamp holder. When you put it back, as long as the recess is towards the font of the oven, you should be ok.

Can't get the light out to replace it?

You have to use a blunt bladed screwdriver to prize the edge of the glass cover away from the oven side. You should see a small cutout in the middle of the edge of the glass that is facing you, to put the screwdriver in. When replacing the glass cover, there is depression in the glass to allow for the bulb. Ensure you put the lense back the correct way.

How do I change the light bulb in the oven

You can replace the light bulb(s) in your range/oven, though you may need to remove a glass covering or dome to reach it. Most interior oven lights use a universal 40 watt appliance bulb.
