Try reformating the drive. It could just be bad sectors in a crucial area, ssd's are pretty stable unless exposed to static electricity or water. Or someone who went willynilly deleting things and unplugging it while perfoprming a task.

3. If the error continues, copy the system hive from \WINDOWS\REPAIR into \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG
4. If the error continues, perform a repair installation by booting from the Windows installation media

I don't think it would be a software conflict on xp- if you were running vista different story. Get a replacement disk from either the place you bought the disk or the manufacturers- the disk must be a bad copy.

Can not read DVDs by SONY DVD RW AW-G170A

I believe the read head is not aligned properly. I would send it back for a replacement. I have had this happen several time after the DVD burners/readers had many hours on them.

Disc Unreadable

Hi,
simple format compatability issue.
you either don,t have the software on your computer.
Or the disks are unfinished or unfinalised, which means that there are no table-of-contents ( directory structure ) for windows to be able to understand the disks format.
Mike @ Compurepair.
Also the drive ( CD/DVD Rom ) may not be compatable with these disks. check your software read/write program, to see if the disks are supported.
