Hi there. Push the screen back Lift up the keyboard bezel using a small flat-head screwdriver. Continue removing the bezel with your fingers.
Lift up and remove the keyboard bezel.
Remove two screws securing the keyboard.
Lift up the keyboard and place it on the laptop cover so you can access the keyboard cable connector. Unlock the connector and pull the cable. Remove the keyboard.
Hi, if it works with an external monitor it's more likely an LCD problem. When you push the power button, noting comes up on the main LCD screen? not even the Acer logo etc.?
Did you set your video card to use an external monitor and disabled the primary LCD? If so, you need to go to display settings, advanced and go to ATI Display and make sure that the notebook monitor is on.
Reseat the memory to see if that does the trick, if not then take the battery out and only hook up the adaptor then turn it on and see if you get a picture, if not then your motherboard is bad and would need to be replaced.
Hold down the "Fn" Key and press the "F4" Key, wait a min, press the Enter key on the keyboard... Do this when it happens, the problem is the ribbon cable in the laptop that goes to the screen is loose, If you want to fix permanently, send in for repair to Acer if under warranty.
