Tray locked I have a JVC Dvd cinema system TH-S55, tray is locked, tried this solution in the manual but still won't work.

hello Setting the disc ejection lock
You can lock the disc tray to prevent the disc form
being ejected.
When the main unit is turned off, hold down the STOP
key at the front panel for 5 seconds
If you attempt to open the disc tray by pressing
OPEN/CLOSE key, the disc tray does not open and
“LOCKED” appears in the display window.
To cancel the disc ejection lock, hold down the STOP
key at the front panel for 5 seconds again when the
main unit is turned off.
“UNLOCKED” is displayed in the display window.
Note:
Before the main unit is turned off, DVD/CD function
should be selected.

You have to remove the changer assy. See why it's jammed and retime it. I have seen a lot of these with jammed changers. If you remove the dvd assy from the bottom there are 2 gear sets to the side. 1 moves trays up and down and the other draws tray in and loads the disc. All I can say is if you are mechanically inclined you can figure it out. If not have it serviced.

If you are unable to get the tray of the dvd player open either the player will have a hole in front for you to stick a (I use a straightened out paper clip) into and press in towards the dvd player. It will manually open the drive so you can retrieve your dvd or there will be enough of a lip on the tray door you can grab it and pull it open manually. Then I would try unplugging the player and waiting a few minutes and plugging it back in and you might get lucky and it may never happen again. Good luck . Hope it works.

While the system is off

Press and hold the stop button and disc one open tray button at same time
It will say unlocked and then power up and you are good to go

You can lock the tray and prohibit the unwanted disc ejection.
On the center unit ONLY:
While the system is turned off
• The system turns on and "LOCKED" appears on the display
window.
• If you try to eject the disc, "LOCKED" appears to indicate that
the tray is locked.
To cancel
Carry out the same operation again.
• The system turns on and "UNLOCKED" appears on the display
window.

With the machine turned off (not off at the mains mind you) press and hold the stop button and then while still holding the stop button, press the eject button. Turn it back on and hey presto! This method will unlock it when its locked and vice versa. p.s its in the manual

On the unit, press the stop button and the cd eject button at the same time. The screen will say locked still. Release them and press them together again at the same time. The screen will now read unlocked. You can then eject the cd.

with the unit off press and hold the stop button and the eject button.

I found the solution for my DVD player you need to hold source down for 5 seconds which will unlock the disc.
