Timex day does not change

I can get the date to change, but the day is stuck even when winding it 24 hours. I can change the date on the 2nd stem setting, too, but I can't figure out the day. It seems like the day is stuck. I have tried putting it at 1am and then winding backwards to past 7:30 and it wants to move, but snaps back to the same day. Help, please!?

SOURCE: Date and time on my new watch do not change

mcdevito75 here, Sounds like part of the mechanism has broken in your Timex watch, and, if so too repair it may cost twice a new Timex watch, chances are this is why watch shops have told you to return the watch to Timex, and without a warrantee, even timex will charge for the repair. Ask the watch repair shop straight out if it pays to repair your watch, chances are no. Also you can try to contact Timex online at Timex watch.com or by phone.

Testimonial: "Thanks. I'm going to dig up the credit card receipt and take it back. I have another Timex that advertises 50 meter water resistance, I showered with it on and it's all steamed up. This will be it for me and Timex watches. Quality control seems to be lacking."

SOURCE: when I pull out the stem 1 notch I can only change

Try turning the stem the opposite direction. The last watch I had with that feature required a clockwise turn to advance the time or date and a counter clockwise turn to change the day of the week.

SOURCE: Changing the DAY on this analog watch.

Turning it backwards didn't work on my watch. I ended up winding the time ahead several days worth to show the right day of the week (being careful to turn it to the correct 9 o'clock of the day, for me is was the first for morning.) Then I could go ahead and change the date using the first click postition of the stem.

I see that light bulb going off and you whispering "why, of course!"

How do i reset date after battery change? or where can i cet a pdf file a9no calliber number on case or movement but its a timex perpetual with indigo light approx 30 yers old

to reset the date manually, pull the stem out to the second position to reset TIME; manually continue setting time until the date is on the correct day/date.
I had to do this to get back to the proper date when my timex was off by a week. Nothing else worked. 14 times around (twice per 24 hour day) and each time I passed "midnight" the date advanced.

How do you set the day and month?

Mcdevito75 here, The stem on your Timex shou;ld have two (2) positions, slip a finger nail just under the crown and gently lift to the first position, it may take a little practice to get but you will. In this first position you"ll see by turning the crown one way you can change the date (number) and turning in the other direction you can change the month or day, if so, set the day and date to one (1) day before the day and date you want. Push the stem back in and lift the stem all the way to set the time of day, now cycle thru the watches 24 hours to set the day and date you want. Your Timex is now set and will change at the proper time of around midnite. If your Timex has the month and day you may have to cycle the 24 hours to reach the correct month other than that these instructions should help.

How can i change date on my watch

mcdevito75 here, If your Timex has a Stem (winder) do this, Slip a fingernail just under the stem and gently lift the crown just a bit, the stem has 2 positions, it may take practice so be patient, once the crown is in it"s first position you"ll be able to change the DATE, set the date 1 date before the date you want so that the date will change on time at about Midnite. Now with the date 1 date before the date you want, push the crown back in and pull the crown out to set the hands, go thru the 24 hour cycle once till you reach the date you want, set also the time of day and your done. How do I re-wind the date on my Timex Easy Reader Woman's Watch?

mcdevito75 here, The stem (crown) on your timex shou;d have 2 positions, this allows you to set the date without haveing to turn the hands around so many times. Place a fingernail just under the crown (winder knob) and lift to it"s first position, it may take some practice so if you don"t get it the first time keep trying, Once you lift the crown to it:"s first position you shoulsd be able to set the date, set the date a day before the date you need, Now, push the stem back in all the way, now pull out the stem and set the date and time you want, you"ll have to go around the 24 hours once to set the correct date and time. Hope this helps. If you can"t do this adjustment, see a small watch repair shop in your area.

I nee to set the date. Is always back to the old date

mcdevito75 here, You may have a 2 position stem in your Timex, Slip a fingernail just under the crown and lift to it:'s first position, this should allow you to change the day / date without haveing to go thru the 24 hour cycle. Best Bet, change the date to the date before, then go thru the 24 hours to have the date change at midnite and not 12 noon. If the date keeps falling back to previous, the date wheel maybe loose in that case you can find a small watch repair shop inyour area, but it may be cheaper to replace the watch if this is the case.

Changing the DAY on this analog watch.

On some analog Timex watches with a day/date window there are only two "pull-out" positions on the stem, one for changing the date and one for the time. To change the day you need to pull the stem all the way out and crank the hands through 24 hour periods until you get the day correct. Be sure that you have the correct AM/PM setting (if you are setting the watch after noon you need to advance the hands another 12 hours so that the day changes at midnight)
