Battery holder missing.

Radio shack carry a full line of battery holders all different sizes and there not much

I have your range finder and I am missing the battery cover so it will not work without

I have had problems with these battery holders at times. When you push the batteries in, the spring contacts in the battery holder will move down into the holder. If they move far enough, they will not make a complete circuit to the scanner. I finally used a dot of hot glue to secure the contacts in the holder - between the batteries, not where the batteries go - and that cured the problem. Quite a delayed answer but I hope it helps.

you need to do this Shortcut the battery with AC contact. AC can be found on the sides of watch movement(very tiny). You have to use pointed tweezers: one end on battery+, another on AC contact for three secs

The Shack can order you the battery holder and have it shipped to the store to save you the postage.

Ok the SxIS series has another battery which is used for the date and other important data like settings and stuff. This is usually a small battery like a CR1002 the flat ones to be exact. Try changing that one and see how it goes.

I looked through manual, here's what I found: the remote battery is CR2025. That however, doesn't solve your missing remote problem. Because of the age of the unit, Sony will not carry that part. However, keep an eye on E-bay and yard sales and thrift stores and hopefully you can pick one up real cheap. Good Luck
