When you do your automatic dialing, does the number include the area code? ie. mine is 937 (937-xxx-xxxx)
If you don't have the area code put in with the rest of the number, that may be your problem. 1 is the country code for USA, so normally when you see a number that says +11234567890, its country code, area code, phone number.
+1(country)123(area code)4567890(phone number)
So anyway, the only thing I can think of is to put the area code in the phone numbers in your address book if they are not already there. Other than that, I dont know.

How to set speed dial on vtech cs6629 phone

To set up a speed dial option, make sure that the phone system is in standby (no handsets in use). Make sure that the number you want to have as a Speed Dial number is in the Directory. You can type in the number (up to 30 digits) and then press Select (shared key with Menu to the upper right of the arrow keys). Alternatively press Menu and use the up/down arrows to navigate to Directory. Press Menu/Select twice. Type in the phone number. Press Select to move to adding a name with the number key. Press Select to Save. You can also add a number from the Redial list. See the abbreviated manual on page 7. Press Off/Cancel to return to the previous menu list. Press and hold Off to exit the menu system completely.

Now, press Menu (if you aren't in the menu) and use the up/down arrows to navigate to Directory. Press Select. Scroll to Speed Dial and press Select. Select a speed dial location and press Select. Scroll through the directory list and press Select when the correct entry is highlighted. Press and hold the Speed Dial number (0 or 2-9) to dial this number. See page 8 of the manual.

The abbreviated manual for the CS6629, CS6629-2, etc is available here: https://phones.vtechcanada.com/media/document2/products/%7B76B9FBDF-8471-4E06-BE52-B0E8A258E5F8%7D/CS6629-3_CAAUM_3_912.pdf .

I hope this helps.

I need to know how to program the numbers into the speed dial option. My mother's phone is a table set with large numbers #29267A ... close enough?

Before you store a telephone number in memory, make sure the dialing mode is
correctly set for the type of service you have. The default dialing mode is tone
(touch-tone), so if you have pulse (rotary) service, you must first change the dialing
mode. See “To Set the Dial Mode.” The following buttons can be stored into any
memory location: 0-9.
STORING FREQUENTLY CALLED NUMBERS
1. Pick up the handset.
2.Press the store button.
3. Push the desired memory location button.
4. Press the store button.
5.Use the handset number keys to enter the telephone number (up to 16-digits)
and press the store button.
6.Hang up the handset.
NOTE: If you make a mistake, use the delete button to delete wrong digits.
CHANGING A STORED NUMBER
Repeat the storage sequence above. The new number replaces the old number at
the memory location.
ERASING A STORED NUMBER
1. Pick up the handset.
2.Press the store button.
3.Press the memory location (0-9) to be erased.
4.Press delete for three seconds until the number in the display is erased.
5.Hang up the handset.
DIALING FREQUENTLY CALLED NUMBERS
1. Pick up the handset and press the mem button.
2. Press 0-9 for the memory location. The number dials automatically.
OR
1. Pick up the handset and press the dial button.
2. Press the review button for the desired memory location.
3. Press the dial button to dial the number.
OR
1. Press dial button while the handset is still in the cradle.
2. Press the review button for the desired memory location, lift the handset and the
number dials automatically.

What is a dial out code?

A dial-out code is a number that is automatically added when you dial a number. It can be either your area code or (usually) your country code.
Let's say the number stored in your phone is (123) 456-7899. So if your dial-out code is set to "+1", then the number dialed is +1-123-456-7899. This ensures that, wherever you are on this planet, you will always reach that number in the US.

On home phones you can sometimes set a dial-out code (like "123"), and if you dial 456-7899, then it automatically adds your area code to the number.

What sometimes happens is, let's say you bought your phone in the US, but you live in another country, your phone still automatically adds a "+1" to all your numbers stored in your phone unless specified otherwise. That's why you have to set the dial-out code to your specific region.

How to set up Speed Dial on a Uniden phone?

My Mom had this same problem.   I found these instructions on Uniden's website (uniden.com) under the "Owner Manuel" section.

Here you go - good luck!

Using the Speed Dial Memory
Storing Numbers in Speed Dial Memory
Your cordless phone can store up to ten numbers (up to 20 digits each) in the speed dial
memory. To store number in memory:
1) When the phone is in standby, press [memory]. The talk/batt low LED flashes.
2) Use the keypad to enter the phone number.
(To enter a 2-second pause between numbers, press [redial/
pause]. Each pause counts as a digit. )
3) Press [memory] again.
4) Select the speed dial location where you would like to store the
number ( [0] to [9] ). You will hear a confirmation tone indicating
that the number has been stored.
NOTE:
• Storing a number to a speed dial location will
overwrite the any previously stored number without
warning.
• When storing numbers into memory and the handset is idle (i.e., no key is
pressed) for more than 0 seconds, it will beep rapidly, and then the phone
will return to standby.
Dialing a Stored Number
1) When the phone is in standby, press [talk], and listen for a dial tone.
2) Press [memory] and enter the speed dial entry ([0] – [9]) that has the stored number
you want to dial. (If you enter a digit that does not contain a stored number, the
handset will beep rapidly, and the phone will not dial.)
Chain Dialing
The speed dial memory is not limited to phone numbers. You can store any number (up
to 20 digits) that you need to enter once your call connects. This is referred to as Chain
Dialing. An example is a frequently refilled prescription number. Store your pharmacy
phone number in one speed dial and your most frequently refilled prescription number
as another speed dial. To use, once you ring your pharmacy's automated prescription
line, simply press [memory] and the speed dial number where you stored your account
number.
Erasing a Stored Number from Memory
1) With the phone in standby, press [memory] twice.
2) Press the number of the speed dial entry. A tone indicates that the stored number is
erased from memory.
