a blue display box in the upper right hand corner keeps poppong up and the mono/stereo status changes... ticking me off. How do I stop this?

  • Anonymous Jan 21, 2009

We just purchased this TV and in the upper right corner every couple of minutes, or even more often, the mono/stereo status keeps coming up. Have searched the manual and menus on the screens and can't find a way to make this stop. Also, the sound seems to crackle a bit and we can't fix that either.

I find that if we turn the DVD player on and just switch the TV to video, we don't have this problem at all.

Air analog 3 message keeps popping up what does that mean?

I bought the 32 inch LCD tv. I contacted Sharp. Here is there response.
Thank you for contacting Sharp Electronics Corporation.

The display will populate on screen any time there is a change to the incoming signal (mono to stereo audio, weak/fluctuating signal strength). Unfortunately there is no way to deactivate the on screen display. If you are able, try using an alternate connection (composite video and analog audio; yellow, red and white cables) from your source device (cable/sat box, if using) to the unit. This will prevent this issue from occurring by providing a more consistent signal. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Display box keeps popping on and off on screen

Your display box continues to pop up because of the way your optimum box is connected to the back of your television. If you are connected with a coaxial cable from the box to the back of the tv, you will get that display box. The reason you are getting it because of the weak signal coming from your coaxial cable(which is the worst cable to use when connecting ANYTHING to ANY tv, especially a lcd tv). That cable is sending a fluctuating signal and your television is adjusting to that(hence the reason the display box comes up). Use composite cables(typical red, white, and yellow cables) to connect your box to your television and I guarantee your problem will be solved. Make sure you unplug that coaxial connection from your box to the television.

Sharp Aquos LC C3242U - Intermittant Sound Switching from Mono to Stereo

Not sure if I just got lucky or if the problem is solved..I hooked up my Sharp Aquos LC-32D64U the other night and I had the blue audio box pop up. Mine was only in Mono and would not switch to Stereo...Well, Local cable company is of of Hi-Def boxes but I thought what if my Digital box is bad/old or has some sort of problem. I went down to comcast cable company switched to a different digitial box..came home, hooked it up and so far no blue audio box, plus now it shows that it's in stereo..good luck

Stereo/Mono Fluctuation Screen Display Problem

I had the same problem.

All I did was unplug the standard cable wire from my tv and used RCA cables to connect my TV to my digital cable box the the Input 1 jack in the back. It also increased the video quality.

I just bought a Sharp Aquos LC-32D64U and a Box in the upper right hand corner keeps popping up "Air Analog Ch. 3 Audio Mono/Stereo." The audio keeps flashes either mono or stereo and it does...

The following pretains to most TV models:

Check to see if there is a key on the remote that is called "Display". This is normaly used to display the TV's operation status. Press it and see if you can work your way through different modes of the display content for the screen.

If you cannot make the statis dissapear, it is possible that there is a fault in the incoming signal and the TV is indicating this error, or it is possible that there is an actual defect in the set. At this point, I would contact the dealer. If you don't get a satisfactory answer, then you should contact Sharp service directly.

With retail dealers in many states and countries if you are dissatisfied with the set, you should be able to exchange the TV set in a specific period of time depending on the local laws that deal with consumer sales.

Volumne on Akai LCT3285TA

Often a signal might experience a super-quick "drop" in signal strength, and the display is automatically adjusting the now weaker audio signal to "mono" (temporary, as for best quality). But the dropout is usually so brief you will then see the "stronger" signal restored [full strength], and now the audio is "stereo".

It's like a "bump" or "disturbance" that occasionally affects the cable/satellite/OTA (antennae) signal being fed into the TV, and your display's attempts to compensate for the weaker signal [going to mono, then back to stereo once back to full strength].
Connecting it to your cable directly (bypassing the box) or an antenna would give you a true over-the-air signal, which would be proper MTS and would not give you any more pop ups.

Green box keeps popping up in upper right corner

You should be watching your dvd's on an input and not on tv analog 3. Every time the tv "senses" a signal change in the audio that screen will pop up. Connect the DVD player to the tv by using either the red, white and yellow (composite) connections or using the green, blue, red, white and red (component). Once you are on an actual input that box will stop popping up.

SAP - I can't get my new TV out of Mono and into stereo.

Are you using a cable box sush as a Comcast cable box? If so then the volume control within the cable box is most likely not high enough for the TV to detect a stereo pilot signal. The Comcast remote (if thats what you have) still is programmed to operate the volume within thier box, the volume display will be at the top of the picture and it will be in white. Turn it up until the word "stereo" appears. then leave it at that setting and use your TV's volume control only.
