Possibly the defrost heater could be faulty or the defrost thermostat or defrost thermistor (sometimes called D-Sensors I believe). If you turn off the fridge and let it defrost itself for 12 hours and then start it again, it may work fine for a week or two (or may even be totally fine in case you left the fridge or freezer door open by accident).

SOURCE: freezer doesn't cool, refrigerator is startin to warm up

There can be several reasons to it.
1.Dust collection can create such a thing but it does not happen directly you should understand the performance loss with in time.
2.Gas leakeage in the cooling circuit.(You need a technican to correct it)It happens due to corrosion.
3.Compressor failure.(This is really a small percentage)
4.If this is a no frost appliance not properly closed door.Make the evap blocked. You can unload the appliance.unplug wait for a day then start again.

SOURCE: ice maker not making ice

If your ice maker has stopped producing ice completely, check these, in this order:

  • It may be turned off. Look for the wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If the wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. If so, try one of these:

    • If your ice maker has a small red plastic lever, lower it to lower the wire.

    • If there's no plastic lever, simply lower the wire.

In either case, the ice maker should begin producing ice again. Also make sure that the temperature is 8 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If the freezer is too warm, the ice maker won't cycle properly.

  • The ice maker fill tube may be blocked with ice. If so, melt the blockage using a hair dryer-but be careful to not melt any plastic parts! Also replace the water shut-off valve or water-inlet valve, or both, if necessary.

  • The ice maker head assembly may have broken parts. Look to see if the gears are broken. Check to see if the small plastic arms that rest against the ice rake are broken. If the ice maker head assembly is modular and you've found broken parts, you can just replace it.

SOURCE: model no 253.5711860 side by side the freezer will

The board will not fix the problem if the heater or the hi temp limit is bad. It sounds like the "computer" is not the problem. Have someone come out and diagnose the problem.

Ice clumping to solid block in bucket. Have to chip the ice away from the rotor in the bucket DAILY (RS263TDWP)

Sounds like its not getting cold enough to keep the ice frozen, Your condenser fan motor may be jammed, especially if you're a pet owner, your condenser coils may be dirty as well. You may want to check to make sure the door is closing all the way, if the fridge is level, or if the ice dispenser flap is shutting all the way. Otherwise warm air may be entering the freezer.

I have a refrigerator that is 10 years old it is a tpx24pbe bb model number and the refrigerator side is staying at 50 degrees what is the problem?

On my GE side by side (model GSS20IEMDWW), a warm fresh food side, as well as iced-over evaporator coils in the freezer, was caused by the temp sensor in the fresh food side sending faulty data to the computer.

The temp in the fresh food side would climb because air could no longer pass over the iced-up coils in the freezer side.

For me, the faulty fresh food side sensor made the computer always thing the fresh food side was too warm, making it constantly run the compressor (thus icing up the coils).

If you do not have a coil icing problem in the freezer, then your fresh food side temp sensor may be telling the computer that the fresh food side is already cold enough.

Freezer not freezing ice cream and milk

Icecream is a tough call. Some brands have to many artaficial ingredients and that doesnt get solid. What temps are you getting in the freezer? Is everything else frozen solid?

Freezer is too cold, ice crystals. Refriderator

I'm not sure which one you have, but try this: Look for the area where the air passes from the freezer to the refrigerator side, in the wall somewhere between them. Make sure that there isn't something blocking the passage. This is a good place to start.

Freezer way too cold, refrigerator side too warm on side by side.

This can be caused by lots of faults first inspect the evaporator in the back of the freezer for ice build up if this is the case the defrost system has a fault, if not the unit that opens between the wall of the freezer and the fridge may be faulty check for the grills opening and closing

My ice cream won't stay frozen in my freezer.

Hi: Meat and other frozen foods will be rock solid at 32degrees. Ice cream will be soft it needs 0degrees to be hard. It sounds like your freezer is above 0 degrees. You tried the adjustments. Make sure the coils on the bottom are clean. They will warm a ref if they are dirty. A coil brush from the hardware store or a air compressor (plan on dusting the house when done. Just vaccuuming the front isn't enough. That's an older model but one of the controls affects both the freezer and fresh food. When it's running turn one down; if it turns off the compressor it affects both. The other control is just an air balance, to direct how much air gets to each compartment. I hope this helps, Jeff

Kenmore side by side - icemaker seems to run too fast because the ice cubes are often hollow and they stick together in large clumps. Everything else in the freezer is frozen solid, so I know the freezer...

IF FREEZER IS A THE CORRECT TEMP/ O-10 DEGREES, THE FREEZER IS NOT THE PROBLEM. THERE IS A THERMOSTAT IN YOUR ICE MAKER, IT IS NOT ADJUSTABLE. IT IS A SMALL BI METAL SWITCH THAT TRIGERS ICE MAKER WHEN IT REACHES ITS PROPER TEMP. THE PROBLEM IS, IT IS TRIGERING IT AT TO LOW OF A TEMP.NOT ALLOWING THE ICE TO FREEZE SOLID. IF YOU CAN HANDLE IT CHANGE BIMETAL SWITCH OR CHANGE ICE MAKER ITSELF.
