Incoming Power Problem
If the washer won't start check to see if
there is power at the electrical outlet which the washer is plugged
into. Plug a lamp or radio into the outlet to check it. If the outlet is
dead, check the circuit breakers or fuses for the home.
Power Cord
If the washer won't start, check to be sure
there is power to the electrical outlet for the home. If that is OK, the
power cord itself might be defective. This is rare. You can check the
power cord with an Ohm meter for continuity.
User Control and Display Board
If the washer won't start, the user control
and display board may be defective. Check for power to the washer first.
Timer
If the washer won't start the timer might be
defective. This part is often misdiagnosed, check other components
before replacing this timer.
Line Fuse
If the washer won't start the line fuse might have blown.
Thermal Fuse
If the washer won't start the thermal fuse
may have blown. It can be tested for continuity. Watch our fuse testing
video for more information.
Line Fuse and Holder
If the washer won't start the line fuse might
have blown, or the line fuse holder might be damaged and need to be
replaced.
Main Control Board
If the washer won't start the main control
board might be defective. This is not common. Check other parts and
causes first.
Door or Lid Latch Assembly
If the washer won't start the lid switch
assembly might be defective. This is a very common problem. The lid
switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any
electrical switches with an Ohm meter for continuity. The switches
should have continuity according to their design.
Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly
If the washer won't start the door lock
assembly should be checked. The door lock can fail either mechanically
or electrically. Test any switches on the door lock with an Ohm meter.
The switches should have continuity according to their design.

Before you go crazy trying to solve the F2 code make sure the filter is clear. Disconnect the power cord, PLEASE. Remove the kick plate on the bottom front by removing the 3 screws below it. You will need a hex socket and extension or a torx screw driver. If there is water in the machine and it will not drain you will need a shop vac and some old towels to catch the water when you open the filter. Now, you will see the filter in front of you. Have the towels ready and vac turned on. Quickly unscrew the filter cap and stick the vac hose right in the filter to catch the water. Clean the filter cap. Did you find any socks, money or other debree ? If yes that may have been your problem. Put the filter back on and HAND tighten well. Test the machine. From now on empty all pockets before you do the laundry. You just saved yourself a big repair charge. Be proud of yourself.

Sometimes I just have to unplug the machine, wait a few seconds and plug it back in and it works. I guess it resets itself or something.
SOURCE: I have a Kenmore HE3t
There is a black plastic piece that sticks out from the machine. It is located at about
2 o'clock. You probably broke off the piece as I did with mine. If you have a wooden skewer (or something like it), stick it in and depress the button. You can glue the skewer in place.
That should fix your problem.

SOURCE: Can't get washer door unlocked
This advice is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet model front loading washers. If you experience a problem where the door becomes jammed and will not unlock or open, here's an easy way to gain access inside your washer WITHOUT calling the repairman.
1. Remove the lower panel under the door by loosening the three screws under the bottom edge on the front of the washer. HINT: If you prop up the front feet of the washer with some small blocks of wood, this will make access to the screws much easier.
2. With the screws removed, the lower panel should drop down then come off. If the panel sticks, a light tap on either side will knock it loose.
3. Reach your hand up inside the washer behind the front casing on the right-hand side. This is where the door latch assembly is located.
4. At the bottom of the door latch assembly is a small pull tab. This is the manual release for the door. Pull the tab straight down and the door will come open.
Sometimes these doors will not unlock for whatever reason. If there are no error codes being generated, this could have just been a momentary glitch. If you see "Fdl" "DLE" or "Fdu" error codes, these are usually indications of a failed door latch assembly and will require replacement.
