Hi Hope someone can help me to solve this problem; My IBM Wheelwriter 3 cannot get the complete word when I type; Top part of the letter is light color; Middle part of the letter is totally missing (cannot read); bottom part of the letter is normal color; Is anyone know the reason? Hope you guys can help. Thanks!
Type on a two part form if the carbons are goog then you have a ribbon problem. Look at the ribbon. Do the letters overlap (ribbon feed) If they don't fall in a line near the center of the ribbon (ribbon lift) Check for folds in the ribbon.

Sounds like the small plastic cap on the solenoid plunger is broken. The part is available for about 15.00 but it is a little tricky to install.

Sounds like the platen is not fully seated in the side frames, align the black latches with the frames and press firmly on both sides of the platen. the latches do occasionally crack in witch case you may need a platen replacement.

Probably the plastic cap on the print soleniod is broken. They are available from us for 15.00 but a little tricky to install.

Check the connectors from thr PC board to the keyboard, if they are OK tren try this hold the code key press and release the "L" key type 001 release thecode key. If this works you need a keyboard to repair it'

To get bold you need a WW 10, 15, 1000, 1500 or any of the later models have this faeture.
