I am having a problem with my nvidia graphics card i believe

This is dependent on the graphics card and supporting software. For ATI/AMD graphics cards, the Catalyst Control Center may allow you to adjust the settings to enable this feature. For NVidia cards the NVidia control panel may provide the correct setting.
In general you can only maximise windows when using multiple displays, rather than switching to full screen on one and windowed on the other.

Viewing movies on a computer is not really just based on how big is the video card RAM. Try watching a high resolution movie or from an original DVD. It should not pixillate as long as the file is supported and the your monitor can project clearly 256RAM is sufficient.
But if your a gamer and want a higher resolution, that is the only time you'll need not just the RAM but also the speed. If your looking for an upgrade and your not doing multitasking on you computer you should settle on 256 to 512MB but with a faster RAM DDR5.

The Nvidia GeForce 9500GT is a definite step up from using Integrated Graphics.
No debate needed there.

But it only has 32 Stream Processors.

Think of Stream Processors as a 'Graphics Information Highway'.
They are essentially the lanes of the highway.
The more lanes you have, the more graphics information can be transferred from the graphics card to the Processor, and vice-versa.

Having 32 Stream Processors is like having a 'Bottleneck' in the road.
Equate that to a roadblock put up for road construction, where 8 lanes are dwindled down to 1 lane.
Traffic slows down.

This is seen when using intense games. Frame rates drop down, the game freezes, and graphics are poor unless on low settings. (Or not at all)

However!
A decent graphics card shouldn't 'Break the Bank'.

You don't need a $500 graphics card to slam those games.
You might want to look into an Nvidia GeForce GT 240 graphics card.

For the above two graphics cards you need a decent power supply.
IF, the power supply you have DOES produce an honest maximum wattage of 400 Watts,
AND has at least 30 Amps on the 12 volt power rail. (Or 12 volt power rails), you're okay.

I would recommend an OCZ StealthXStream 2 / 600 Watt power supply though, when you can afford it.
It can produce over 700 watts if kept at a temperature of 48.4 degrees Celsius.

You didn't mention what it is but I'm assuming you are talking about a Gateway laptop. It sounds like overheating problem of the graphics card. 2 reasons would normally dirt and dust in the heat sink and fan and the second reason a faulty graphics card. I would first get an air blower and dust off the air vent see if any dust comes out. Try to also place the laptop on an open surface not a carpet or sofa which may block the laptop air ways.

if you have a wide screen laptop the picture format is 16x9 in stead of 4x3 as the old models.

you can try to change the screen resolution to something like 800x600 1024x768 this are standar 4.3 formats. after you can run the video application and see if it shows you a full screen picture. if you need more info contact me

You could try selecting properties on the shortcut and checking the run maximized box. Or you could try to find the .txt file with the game settings in it and manually insert a resolution. However, since I do not have the game, I cannot tell you were to find that. I hope this helps, Yannick.

try to use a low version of a driver or download this detonator. it will operate only on some features of your video card it wont push the video card to the limit so that you wont experience any mixing color while playing in warcraft. by the way just adjust the configuration of your warcraft in video so that you will enjoy your game with no hassle. hope that helps!
