Sony kv 27s22 sound works but no picture

I had to bang the side of tv to make the picture appear what is wrong with it.

SOURCE: The sound on my sony KV-27s22 comes on realy good

You definitely have bad solder joint.If you have a soldering iron you may be able to fix it.The way your talking it sound like in the deflection area.remove the back cover and start the set then using something non conductive i.e a wooden salad spoon , knock lighly around the circuit that way you may be able to pinpoint the area where the trouble is. you`ll have to pull out the chassis to resolder the joints.look for rings around solder spot. good luck p.s; remove power before soldering

Hi Michael,

you can check the your colour system changed by mistakenly by yourself to go to setting and ,also try to re tune the channels or one channel.
if problem still there check the your tv has sound output socket or hedphone socket.
try with hedphones.

if not you must need to go to repair professional .if head phone working. it is a problem of your internal speaker or hedphone socket itself.

Sony Trinitron KV-32S40 32" TV problem
This is a simple and common problem. The solder joints on the vertical output IC have cracked loose. I actually did a housecall on the exact same set with the exact same symptoms this morning! A good tech will resolder the pins of the vertical output IC and all other major solder joints on the main board and the set will play fine.

1/3 of picture becomes partially scrambled
sounds like you have a frame fold-over fault, does banging the tv have any effect (slightly bang the set on the sides), if it does then its more than likely a dry joint, check all around the frame output chip, hope this is of some help to you
