If the paper isn't feeding in the ADF (automatic document feeder - upper paper feeder) then the ADF roller assembly will need to be replaced. Try a copy on the flat glass area. If it work, then it's the ADF, If not then the upper scanner assembly with have to be replaced.

Do you have the option installed on you copier??? Also, there is another ether connector for scanning. If it is installed it is right above the print PCB.
Make sure the printercancopy (withoutcomputer).If you canmake copies,the problem maybe the computer orthe USB cable.If the printerdoes not copyalso.The problemis in thescanneror in theflat cable.
@ Other computers might be beyond the range of wi fi limits, run the CD in other computers ask to detect.. if not detected suspect out range.Check obstructions of walls, beams, magnetic fields. @ If printer is not scanning check whether copy happening or not, if copy is happening uninstall the drivers and reload it once again, if copy not happening check scanner unit warming up or not.
Do you get the same result when making a copy using the Copy button on your printer operator panel? Try to remove the power adapter from the printer.
Wait at least 10 seconds before replugging the power adapter. This will give enough time for the printer to reset itself. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges. Load some paper and try to make a copy or scan again.
Unfortunately you won't be able to copy directly from this machine since it's only a printer. If you have access to a scanner you can use it to scan your document, save it to your machine, and then print it on this device. Otherwise you'll need to purchase a Multi-Function machine that includes a Scan/Copy feature.
I just called Brothers product support and found out that these machines WILL NOT scan or copy or do anything until the ink cartridges have been replaced. So there is no other solution.
