Need to speed up my Acer Travelmate 2410

Hello - Season's Greetings!

I have already ordered a 2GB memory upgrade (Currently only 256MB!!!)for the machine, but wondered also about a CPU upgrade.

I used to build desktops in the past (in the days of 386DX and 486 CPU) so am happy enough with the mechanical/electronic aspects of the upgrade - I just don't know what's possible with this PC

Many thanks

Robert

According to your describe, your slow TravelMate laptop can caused by various hidden Windows errors. Those problems firstly cause your Acer slow, and then freeze up occasionally. One day crash all of a sudden! To quickly fix the problem, see resolution here: http://www.speedupacer.com/ Should help you out, good luck!

I have acer travelmate 2355nxc with 40 gb hdd. want to know how to increase its speed and capacity.

Hi, how are you?

To upgrade your laptop, you will have to verify the capacity for upgrade of your laptop.

The Acer Travelmate comes with:

  • Intel Celeron-M 360 Processor 1.4GHz
  • 256MB DDR SDRAM -
  • 40GB Hard Drive
  • DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive - To read DVDs and CDs and write CDs
  • 15" XGA TFT Screen
  • Intel 852GM 64MB shared graphics
  • Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition

  • Based on this information, you can upgrade your memory depending on what type of memory your motherboard supports and how many empty slots for memory does your laptop have.

The hard drive can be upgraded also depending on which hard drives does the BIOS will recognize.

I will suggest to contact ACER and ask for the options and upgrades capacity.

    God Bless You!!!

    Hope it helps.

Upgrading memory for Travelmate 2310 I added 256MB memory in the available slot...\ Still 256MB on ly when I should now have 512MB ........ Thanks for any tip..... Patrice

    Hi Thanks for your question
For two memory modules to work together they need to be the same speed. For example PC2-4200 module will not work correctly with PC2-3200. This website provides program that will scan your RAM and tell you exactly what you need. http://www.crucial.com/uk/systemscanner/index.aspx Download the scanner and run it. Once it's finished it will show you page with results. On the bottom of this page you have information about currently installed RAM. Buy one to go with it and you should be back on your track. Good Luck

Which is the fastest cpu i can mount on my 2.6 ghz celeron based acer travelmate 244lc notebook now? Is there any fastest celeron compatible now? Thanks in advance anyway. Mario

2.6 Ghz is pretty fast already. If your computer is running your programs slow, you can upgrade your RAM to 2GB; this would speed it up allot.

    Acer TravelMate 2303WLCi

    Hello,
Your particular model of laptop will allow up to 2GB of memory. Each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.
As for the hard drive, I believe the standard 2.5" drive is compatible in any size you'd prefer.
