Goodman GSC130421ab has no voltage to contact after washing coils....it worked just before powering off unit at diconnect to clean the condenser coils

I had 24VAC to the contact and unit running fine. Then I pulled 240vac disconnect to shut unit off to clean the condenser coils. Put disconnect back in and now no low voltage to contact ( 24Vac) and of course unit not running. Did I get a low voltage wire wet or something ???

very posisble.check the fuse on the board on the indor unit. replace with equal size fuse (not bigger probably 3 amp). if the indoor unit comes on then the fuse is fine and i would suspect the coil on the contactor has shorted

Outside unit doesnt start inside unit is working

This model of Goodman A/C the condenser coil get extremely dirty and what happens is when your condenser runs for a long period of time it pops the capacitor. This is the starting component for the compressor and the fan outside. the coil needs to be cleaned with a non acid condenser cleaner. Open up the side compartment of A/C look at the silver cylinder thats the capacitor if is looks swelled replace it.

How do I open the goodman condensing unit for cleaning

I suggest taking the top screen and possibly the condenser motor out. If you try to take off the cage that surrounds the unit, you may not get it back on right. Best to push the dirt out with a hose from the inside out.

Every 1 minute it has a one second surge

Hello Dave,
The first place to start is with the line voltage supplying the condensing unit. Check ALL line voltage connections at the condensing unit, the service disconnect, and the electrical panel box. If you have a weak connection or overheating circuit breaker, it could create these surges.

Don't forget to ensure the filters and coils are clean to keep your system operating at peak performance & efficiency. :-)

I have goodman 13 seer/ I have power going into the unit and it will not pull in the contact and when i push in the contact the fan will run but not blow in the house and both cooper pipes on the outside...

check power on the 24 volt coil of the contact pushing in the contactor will not make youre blower in the house run only start the compressor and condensing fan on the outside unit. if u do not have 24 volts on the coil of the contactor that could mean a few things high or low pressure switch is open. which this sounds like the problem because you stated the unit starts but both (copper) pipes stay warm this may be cause by no freon in the system. see normally if you push that contactor in when the indoor fan not running u will get really cold big pipe thats called the suction line. check if you have voltage on the coil when unit is calling for cooling if not look at the schematic and ohm the pressure switces if there are any

Extremely long time to get cool air with 5 ton 13 seer goodman heat pump which is 3 years old.

Check your filter. Make sure it is clean. Make sure the outdoor unit is operational. (power on). Clean your condenser coil with a garden hose. If possible check your evaporator coil. If it is dirty clean it. Your furnace (or air handler) blower speed should be set on high. All of your registers (supply & return) should be open and unobstructed. Check for proper thermostat settings. If none of this information solves your problem , then your units charge needs to be checked. You could be over or undercharged with freon.
Good luck......

Have goodman unit, ac unit running 55 suction, 210 high side. cleaned condenser coils and charge to 10 degrees supercool. suction at 65, discharge 245, why did my discharge go so high

You should have liquid line filter/dryer that maybe restricted or there is a restriction in the orfice inside the evap coil normal operating pressures are 68/ 180

5 year old Goodman CKJ48-1A Condenser Unit

The high side psi. should be at least around 100# ps more than the low side psi. The low side psi sounds ok, but the high side tells you the problem is the outside condenser is plugging up! Go to an ac supply house, and buy a gallon of coil cleanner and dilute it and fully clean the outside condenser coils ,after it's cleaned ,check the charge now!

Condencing unit

Check filters to see if dirty, clean or replace. Is the coil or condensing unit iceing up? If so, have your system recharged and checked for leaks.

Short cycles

If it is your outdoor unit that is short cycling check the condenser for air flow. Clean the coils by water washing them. Do not get water into the electrical parts of the fan motor.
