V-Star 1100 high idle after warm up

I have a 2006 Yamaha V-Star 1100 and until it warms up it runs at idle correctly. After it warms up it has a high idle but only while in gear when it is in neutral even hot it idles correctly. Any thoughts out there?

SOURCE: 2000 Yamaha V star Classic 1100; Once it warms up,

The idle is set too high. Check on the left side of the engine, about mid point of the jugs "V", you should see a knob near the middle. Turn it R/L until the idle lowers. (slowly!) (only AFTER it has warmed up.

06 v-star 1100 when twisting throttle and then back to idle position it takes a while to idle back down or stays at high rpm

More than likely the carbs are plugged up(makes the no idle, popping from the intake or pipe and sometimes hard starting), and/or a vacuum line(s) Is loose/broken, and the carbs are probably out of sync (makes the high sticking idle/little to no idle). I have many article written about cleaning the carbs and fuel system. Get the carbs and fuel system cleaned out if you are not familiar with the process.

I HAVE 2002 YAMAHA V-STAR 1100 CLASSIC THAT RUNS GOOD, BUT THE IDLE SEEMS TO TAKE A WHILE TO IDLE DOWN. i HAVE NO VACUUM LEAKS . ANY IDEAS?

take a can of carb cleaner an spray all around the carbs an intakes while it is running if it revs up or chokes down you have a intake leak try to tighten them up and see if that corrects it it could also be dirty air breater it would cause it to idle poorly until it warms up
