Kenmore 90 Series washer needs two spins to remove water

I have a Kenmore 90 series washer, model 110.28912790. The washer works fine other than not getting the water out of the clothes on the first spin. Always have to spin twice to extract water. Never any water left sitting in tub after first spin. I have replaced direct-drive coupler and the pump. No change. The tub seems to spin fast, but how do you determine whether it is fast enough or spinning long enough? My wife is getting very annoyed by having to spin twice every time. I have watched the tub spin with the top open. It spins fast enough that everything becomes a blur, and water is always ejected from the drain hose, but it apparently is not spinning fast enough or long enough to extract most of the water from the clothes. We have exact same washer. It is 11 years old. We are at a point where we have to spin it 7 times and then still isn't too dry. It dies yesterday a very loud death. Mentioning this here because it could be a foreshadowing of your Kenmore 90's future.
