Is it a squeel or a hum / rumble? 1st run your hands around the tyres especially the inside. Check for hi and low spots on the tyres. If the tyre is hi low hi low hi low it makes a shocking sound. if it is a squeel noise have they checked your brakes cause brakes have squeelers to let you know they need changeing
Its more like a high pitch humming noise. But to your question i just changed the breaks about 2 months ango and two weeks ago i changed the wheels so i dont think its any of thoes thing. However ethnak you for the suggestions. Idk if it matters but i took my car up a hill and when i reache dthe top i put my car on neutral and let it roll down and when it hit 40mph i step on the breaks to slow it down and it still made the humming noise, i dont know what to do any more i guess i just have to live with a humming car.

Maybe your starter was stuck out and it kept running with the flywheel until i got hot and start smoking.

I had the same problem. I changed my fuel filter too.Your catalytic converter is clogged. I could put the pedal to the floor board and couldnt hardly pick up any speed. I could hardly make up a hill on the highway. Take it to a kia dealership and they will, they should replace it for free, they did mine and I didnt have a warranty. I think there is a warranty on that specific part. That's what it is though.

check the belts. one or more is in need of replacement.

Look at the AC pump. See if the belt is there, slipping, or the pully clutch engaging.
The center of the AC pully can be standing still while the outside turns. There is supposed to be a magnet that grabs the outside and locks it to the inside when you turn the AC on. The magnet could be bad or its clutch slipping.

Hey Everyone i took my Kia to 3 Mechanics two which said they did not know what it was becasuse nothing in the car was being affected othern then it making that annoyinh humming noise at 40mph. The third mechanic i took it to said it was a "Transaxel final drive strating to have excessive bearing play" any how i dont even know what that means all i know is that the third mechanic wanted 1,800 to fix it and out in a new transmission which i said no to becasue if it was the transmission. My car would not be forced when running and thank god my car is running perfect no stalling no loss of power all it has is an annoying as hum like a frequency noise from 40 mph till it drops to 35mph. If any one has any solutions let me know the noise has been frustraiting me for over 1 year now.
