Model number 417.43142300 Clothes came out sopping wet, machine was banging very loudly especially at spin cycle. Trying to determine if it's worth repairing (paying for a servuce call) or just time to get a new one. Machine is 7-8 years old.

Unless your front loader is set firmly on concrete
and leveled to perfection, the force of a heavy wash load spinning in
excess of 1000rpm will create a bit of vibration and noise.A firm footing is your best defense against to much movement.
Also due to the earlier movements during the spin cycle, the
shocks that are used to dampen the spin cycle might have been broken or
damaged.
If the problem persists inspite of proper levelling, please do check for the shocks or might have them replaced them for good.

First plug off the wall. Open the machine from behind to examine if any shock-absorbers(known as dampers) or springs have come off or broken. Your dealer could help with spares. But you could do the job yourself.

GE WPXH214ACC Washer drum makes loud noise when spinning sometimes. We've had it since 2005 & never had this happen before. Washer is level, must stop & redistribute clothes to correct. Just started happening now.

The drum appears to have more play both front/back and side/side relative to when the machine was working smoothly. Sounds like it might be shock absorbers or spider assembly, if it is the assembly I probably need a new machine, correct? Any easy way to diagnose problem?
I'm most concerned about the loose drum, seems to be detached from the rubber gasket/seal. Also just noticed last load had some stain marks on lighter clothes in the pattern of the drum interior, something leaking as well?
One of the shock absorbers is broken, not sure if anything else is as well. I'm going to replace absorbers and see what happens...
One shock was completely broken, the other cracked. Replaced them both andthe play is removed from the drum BUT still makes airplane taking off noise. Anyone else with a suggestion, I hate to throw more money at a lost cause.
as already advised stop throwing good money after bad. possible motor bearings shot
Agreed. Thanks for the advice, we purchased a new machine.
