The screen works on a Dell computer without problem via DVI. It has also a VGA enter, which I use with a VGA-VGA cable. Switching on the machine, the screen shows the windows xp in launching progress during 10 sec. After that: black screen with the message "DSUb signal out of range". Other references on the board: "000C76E9CE95 VIA VT8237 0403CD CHINA 2IA2979900 FC MICRO-STAR MODEL MS-7061 N1996 4420479326"
You need to lower your screen resolution. Right click desktop > Properties. Lower Screen Resolution to 800x600. You mave to do this in Safe Mode by pressing F8 during boot.
Good Day Jose Yes BUT how to obtain a window on which I can go to Properties, as I see only black?Boot on another screen? I have somewhere a old CRT. Thank you. martin paris
Press F8 during boot. Then Safe Mode. If not there is another problem
Dear Jose Thank you. with F8 I get a list, in which I select 'start wiith VGA' then 'Enter' A second window with 'select system' - there is only one: windows xp - enter - windows launches - But: the resolution is low (texte on Word hardly lisible) - tried several parameters - nothing changes - jpeg files do not open - 'Photo studio' asks 800x600 - but with this still not opens. May be the Dell 1800fp is not rekognised - need of a driver? Many thanks martin paris
I'm not sure any more. Here is the manual.http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/mo...
DEAR JOSE thank you, I studied the manual. In the list of preselected resolution are only 2 in VGA. 720x400 annd 640x480. That is very low. The other values are higher but in VESA. I thought that the second input is a DVI. Anyway, it seems that infortunatel this screen cannot give more. And my unit has only VGA. Is there some other way? Thank you. Martin Paris
Sorry for the faults.
To All of You who sent me answers.I do not exactly remember by which way I succeeded to obtain the desired thing, but it works! So I address a collective Thanks. Martin Paris..
