SOURCE: % hp Honda Motor runs on choke

Dear LC39B,
Is it possible you are blaming the wrong part of the machine? Did you try the Honda Motor on its own? I am asking , because if the pump of the washer has some fault or a bit jammed, this will demand a lot of power from the Honda. You can try the Honda with no water connection and no gun.
Regarding the Honda motor, you should check the electrical system also. I am saying this because you did not mention it, in your service procedure.
Regards,
MG.

SOURCE: Karcher pressure washer with Honda GC160 engine only runs on chok

You need to remove the carb bowl, then with a small flat screwdriver remove the jet. ( on the side, at the bottom of stem.) take a small wire or toothpick and clean the gunk out of the jet, reassemble and open fuel valve, start, and pat yourself on your back.

SOURCE: excell pressure washer honda motor---have fuel

Sounds like the carb is badly clogged internally. If you can remove it yourself, you can soak it overnight in a can of carb cleaner. But keep in mind some of the internal passageways in the carb are as fine a human hair and soaking may not work, it which case go to plan B, new carb. Last resort you could try to find cleaners small enough to get in the passageways of the carb, I've heard of people using wire brush bristles for example. Today's gas is terrible, it does not take long to gum up the carb, if it sits for any time.

Testimonial: "you nailed it..........shitty fuel and clogged main jet..........lets see if it still runs today..Thanks"

Honda Pressure Washer won't start

Blue smoke is def oil burning so I would guess that is the ain cause of the non running. It is possible that oil has got into the carb and jet . Turn fuel off and unscrew the slightly off set 10mm bolt on the bottom of the carb bowl to drain the fuel. If oil came out with the fuel then you should undo the other 10mm bolt and remove the bowl. Spray some carb cleaner around the floet and jet and also up the post that the bowl was fixed to as the jet is up there. Also, remove spark plug and pull over a few time to get rid of anything in the cylinder. Refit all back together and try again (don't forget to turn fuel back on).If it tarts it may run smokey for a few minutes while any oil residue burns off.

I have a Husky 2600 PSI power washer with the Honda GCV160 engine that I can't get to start. It was okay when I purchased it from Home Depot last spring but now I've tried putting new gas in it, spraying...

You can eliminate the motor by unbolting the pump from it and then if it will start the problem is with the pump or the unloading valve. If it does not start with the pump removed then you check for spark and get the carb cleaned or have a kit put in it.If it does start then check to see if the pump turns freely,if so disassemble the unloader valve and clean and lube it so that the pump and motor can relieve the pressure it needs to when the trigger is not engaged,if the pump can't be easily turned by hand then then pump needs to come apart, dealership should do this.

My pressure washer will start, but when I pull the trigger it dies.

hi , first thing to do is a full service on it , clean the air filter , clean the spark plug, check the oil , clean the inline guaze filter on the water inlet side , open the small screw on the bottom of the carb bowl and drain out any water that may be in it , then try it with a water supply but without a hose and lance connected , this will let you know the engine and pump are working , some washers are fitted with a small piston/cylinder comming from the pump with a linkage leading to the carb this may be sticking/jammed , if you post more details we should be able to help

Honda GCV160 Engine Won't Start

Hello
You should siphon out all the old gas you can. Replace with new gas. Check that the spark plug is good and the air filter is clean. Spray some carb cleaner in the carburetor.. Also, you should check the oil level and change the oil if it is black. If it tries to start after you spray the carb cleaner in but won't keep going then you know the carburetor needs a good cleaning

Honda Pressure Washer HP 5 not starting

You can try spraying some carburetor cleaner into the carb. If it starts for a minute, your carburetor need cleaning. When you added new gas did you remove the old gas first? Is the air filter clean?

Pressure washer stalls

Pressure washers work under very dirty conditions, no wonder they encounter engine problems. Here are a few pointers from a former pressure pump tech. The unloader is a source of engine overloading however this can easily be checked with a pressure guage attached to the gun with a tee fitting having the guage and the normal tip used for the unit. The pressure should never rise over rated pressure. The pressure should drop considrably when trigger is released. The life of the pump and engine can be increased by setting max pressure to 75% of rating. Most engine problems are from following conditions:
Leaking or misadjusted valves; clogged muffer /spark arrester; weak spark coil that is about to fail completely; kill switch/oil sensor wiring and or sensor mal function; gas cap not venting properly causing vacuum in tank and wet or dirty air filter.
All these problems easy to check, fastest repair is to disconnect oil sensor wire to check oil safety system. Then temp replace coil with known good coil. Loosen muffer bolts to check for clogged muffler. Temp run engine without gas cap to check for vacuum. Finally if everything fails, run the engine with carb cleaner spraying directly into the intake. If the engine continues to run with carb cleaner then the problem is fuel delivey and faulty carb. enjoy
