MagicJack Caller ID problem...

What did you do to fix your Caller ID problem with MJ? I just got a MJ for Christmas and purchased a new phone today to use with the MJ. It is not displaying the Caller ID information.

Not sure exactly what fixed it, but I updated my USB drivers, then updated the MagicJack software from the following site. http://digital-nomads.blogspot.com/2008/01/magicjack-software-update-available-for.html Also I made sure to restart my computer after all updates, with the MagicJack plugged in and the phone attached. I don't know if the update differs from the one offered on the MagicJack site, but it now works. I also found a site that offers a hardware fix that seems to work for some people useing a 100k ohm resistor but that didn't work for me. That info can be found at- http://www.magicjacksupport.com/inbound-cid-possible-fix-t108-15.html Thie site is an unofficial MagicJack forum, but some people claim it worked for them. Please let me know if any of this helps!

Why is caller id not working on phone after switching to AT&T uverse internet and phone?
Do they offer caller ID with that type of service? If so they should be able to fix that for you. You are now VOIP and not real sure how caller ID works behind that. There is a data burst sent after 1 ring on regular telephone service..

you should have logged into the account withe the regular mj login and purchased the mj from there. once done then you can move the minutes.

It's the MagicJack that "sends" both the telephone-number and the caller-ID information -- nothing to do with your Internet supplier.

Is there a way to repair or replace the magicjack adapter?
Go buy a new one for $40 at Walmart - KEEP YOUR RECEIPT AND PACKAGING!

Wait one week and simply put the damaged MJ back into pack and return it (within 90 days of purchase)- the store gets credit and you get a new jack, phone #, and your year of service begins anew - no one takes a loss - store gets credit and you don't have to mess with MJ's non-existant customer service -

Note: I have done this 2 times as I get VERY POOR QUALITY CONNECTION on MJ and still cannot figure out a way to improve my connection quality- any suggestions??

After 3 months my MagicJack stopped working. I have this same problem with 3 different MagicJack devices: after dialing a few numbers successfully, when I dial the next number I hear only 1 or 2 rings then...
Likewise I had the same problem, spent 3 days and on hold for 2 hours at a time, told the tech who was doing a live link into my computer suddenly went on break, then was gone for the day...their TECHNICAL SUPPORT IS A NIGHTMARE...and no, we still do not have a solution to our phone and went through alllllll the same gyrations!

CALLER ID
I just got off the phone with a GE rep, they said to unplug all phones from the wall for 15 minutes, then remove the batteries and put them back in the opposite way they came out. That will reset the system and fix the problem.

If it does not fix it, you'd need to purchase new phones.

Caller ID Stopped Working
I had the same problem - until today. Seems that the phone jack wiring in my living room needs repairing. Receiving and making calls is no problem, but the Caller ID is first to go (according to phone service provider). I tried out the phone in the bedroom, and the Caller ID shows up fine. Serviceman coming tomorrow to fix the L/R wiring.
