Have a Taylor C713 Ice Cream machine. Its a new machine to my store and since it arrived the ice cream has been too soft. What can I do to fix the problem?

You need to adjust the viscosity. On your front display, on the right hand side, there is a large ice cream cone. Press the center of that ice cream cone. It'll ask you to enter a code. Using your up and down arrows, enter the code 5231 pressing the SEL button after each number. After hitting SEL for the last number, it will take you to a menu. Scroll down to Viscosity Settings. Hit SEL and then choose left or right. The top number is the current setting. If your only option is exit then press your up arrow to increase the viscosity by (0.1). Then hit SEL. Same procedure for the other side. If its still too soft, repeat the procedure. If your options are change and exit, you will have to scroll up to change and then hit SEL before you can change the setting.

I am trying to take apart my cuisinart ice cream maker and 3 of the bolts are phillips but the last one I have no idea what kind of head it is and can not unscrew it. Is it some special cuisinart bolt...

Hey G,
This bit set has all the "special" safety bits you need... I have one and its always had what I needed..(even has the reverse three blade phillips head.. - they use them on police monitoring ankle bracelets) ....you will need a driver handle..
good luck..

Danby icemaker not pumping water

I have the same problem, the ice shovel was catching and not moving forward to shovel the ice, this stopped the ice maker. i have cleaned off the surplus plastic from the molding process (on the underside of the shovel) and this so far has cued the problem.

Broken Dasher

I went to Jarden Consumer Solutions, who owns Rivel, and called the 1-800 number under the Rivel heading and got a replacement dasher for $6.00 + shipping. Took 4 days to show up.

One day it quit working for no apparent reason -- need service, but where?

If the only problem is that the unit does not chill, then perhaps there is a leak in the freon. Maybe a refrigeration expert could help.

The lid will not lock and stay on during churning

Here is a link to the manual if you need it; http://www.cuisinart.com/share/man/423_man.pdf It sounds like somehow the little locking lugs on either the lid or the bit it locks to have broken off. if it is the lid, then you should be able to get a new one from cuisinart - check the manual for details, otherwise you probably have to either try and rebuild them by carving another piece of plastic the same and glueing it on. a new body piece may be available, check with cuisinart, but my guess is that you are stuck with tape - or my idea would be a large rubber/elastic band, so you can re-use it. Hope this helps :)
