Print a configuration page and enter the machine IP in the address box. That will pull up the machine settings then most likely look in properties and go to what you want to change.
If this is a Sharp copier then you can go to either custom settings or system settings. Log in as administrator, find the settings under printer settings-NIC or NIC will have its own tab.
If you know the IP address, connect the printer with a laptop using a cross cable. Go to the printer web page by typing the IP address of the machine in the Internet explorer. Browse the menu under network setting and save after you change the gateway
Find out what the gateway setting are on your computer and assign an ip address based on the gateway.
For example if your gateway is 192.168.0.1 then a good ip address would be 192.168.0.XXX. xxx=available ip address to use.
Your copier does have a DHCP setting that allows the router to assign on automatically for you if the copier is connected to one but you should assign that ip address manually after using DHCP because if the power goes out, it could assign a different one than the previous assignment making the IP port assignments to print with on your computer useless without creating a new port.
The easy way to do it is to set the copier up for AUTO DHCP. That way the copier will connect to the router and assign a free IP address to the copier.
Then go into internet explorer and type in the ip address of the copier. If you can get a control panel screen of the copier to appear. It worked.
Once you get the IP address, take it off of AUTO DHCP and type in the IP address that the router assigned to the copier.
