Power cut last night and cannot get my TV to power up.

First check your circuit breakers. Also,If you are capable, open the TV and check the fuse inside. The power outage and the sudden spike in power might have tripped the breaker or blown the fuse. Good luck!

MY LG TV HAS JUST LOST THE PICTURE AND THE POWER LIGHT HAS GONE OUT.PLUG FUSE IS O.K.

Many electronics devices have fuses inside. Also power supply circuit devices can, of course, fail. If you want to open it to look for a fuse, there is usually a warning on the back about that. . . I have seen a set that went out as you describe, opened it, found a bad fuse. Replaced the fuse and the set has worked for years since.

TV all the sudden won't power on. Where is the fuse located?

Follow the power cord inside the set as it goes almost directly and non stop to the AC line fuse.

Generator running but no powerout put

I would check the fuses to see if you've blown any of them. Make sure to shut the generator off and unplug all the devices from it before testing. If one of the fuses are blown, replace it with one you're not using and plug fewer things into the generator.

I have a 1 year old Sanyo Vizon HDTV and was watching a show when it suddenly just shut off and would not go back on again. No storms or any other power surges and it is hooked up to a real surge...

Hello
If there is no power indicator LED lights up when the set is sitched ON, the power regulator section inside your TV is faulty. There is a fuse [glass cartridge type]; on the power regulator board. If this fuse blows OFF the set won't switvh ON of the front power light won't light up. Check this fuse first. You can locate it at its power switching regulator board inside, where the AC power goes straight to it after a filternig circuit. If the fuse is blown out, replace ti with same rating. It ratings will be marked either on its edge rims of on its body by colour code lines. Replace the the fuse; if it has blown out, and switch ON the TV. if the replaced fuse also gets failed, do not put any fuse after, the power supply section has some short with it. It is best to replace the power supply board as a card absis; rather than making "surgery" to it. Some components in it will be very difficult to get too. You can buy a new power board from /Vizio Authorised Service Center at your town. OK.

Oven suddenly lost heat, inside fuse is OK though. Display, fan, turntable all working. Is it magnetron or its power supply?

You're right, if the lights come on and turntable moves, it is most likely your magnetron.

Television has no power. outlet has power and cord from outlet to television has power. is there a fuse?

All telivisions has fuses inside. Some of them has one, and some has two. If your tv doesn't power on, and power chord and outlet is ok, surely the fuse inside may blown out. There may be some reason for the blowing of fuse. Fuses are used inside tvs are for protection purposes. f any overvoltage or over current taken by the system, the fuse will blow out. you must fist find out the resom for the bowing of fuse. New fuse must be put in only after that check. Otherwise you will spoil the whole circut board inside the tv irrepairable. Concat a service personnal, and let him do that. Ok.
Remember, different tvs have different power ratings. Must select proper fuse according to the ratings.

Thomson DTI2300 set top box stopped working

If there are no lights and no sound, then you've lost power.
I expect you've checked the fuse? If not go ahead!
Assuming that the fuse is ok, the next step is to check the power board in the unit. The unit pulls apart by un-doing 2 screws; 1 on the bottom and 1 on the top centre of the rear plate. The innards pull out, but you must pull the top panel away from the second screw I mentioned as you pull it out.
Inside the bow you'll find the power board (where the power lead goes to). You're looking for bulging or leaking capacitors; this is a comman failure on these units. They are pennies to buy and easy to replace if you can wield a soldering iron. If you have a handy friend he/she will find it easy.
