I have a Zentih TV from 1996 which was very gently used. However, the menu bar on the TV does not work and the remote doesn't either. I was wondering if certain functions would be disabled if the TV was origanally setup in a facility like a hotel. That's where it came from, a hotel that was upgrading all of their TVs and other similar electronics. So, any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Yes hotel TV's have special programming installed.

Open main menu and select manual program. In this option check skip on/off option is there. Otherwise select autoprogram the channels are automatically stored, after completing autoprogram TV displays program edit option. In that you can choose your needs.

If you purchase a name-brand programmable remote with an
A/V (source) button you should be able to switch from tv tuner
to aux. I would suggest that your remote also have a menu
feature too as most hotel/motel sets cannot be adjusted at
the set. Also, you may want to get a Y-plug to hook your two
RCA audio cables into to adapt to the single audio input on
the tv.

The core problem with the green tint is the aging of the picture tube, and can be compensated a bit by using either the green drive control usually located on a printed circuit board on the neck of the picture tube or on the main chassis. There will be 3 main controls which will adjust the red and blue as well. If these controls are not present then you will need to get into the service menu and adjust it from there. Don't adjust anything else as you can make the set much worse. Also remember that in order to make these internal adjustments while watching a black and white picture (turn the color all the way down) you will have your hands and arms near live circuits that could shock you and cause injury to yourself as well as break parts inside the set when you pull back after being zapped (voice of experience here) Of course if you can do all this by the service menu then you won't even have to remove the back of the TV.

These hotel t.v use a particular remote so that customers can`t fool around with the setup,You may be able to get an eeprom i.c for a similar chassis from a local repair shop, but then your set may need some adjustment through the service menu i.e vertical and horizontal size, a local tv repairman may be able to help you there. good luck
