Make sure that there is nothing blocking the soap door from opening fully when the dishwasher is shut. This happened to me and I also thought that the soap door was opening during the cycle when it actually only partially opened during the wash and then popped open fully when I opened the dishwasher at the end of the cycle. So some, but not all, of the soap was used.
This problem is not because you are using too much soap. Yes, do make sure there is nothing blocking the soap door as mentioned in the previous response. Also, there seems to be a bit of a design problem with this model. The upper rack has two settings (on the slide rails). When the rack is on the lower setting, the soap door appears to only open 1/4 to 1/3 of the way and often the soap is not completely washed from the dispenser. Try putting the rack in the upper position (it doesn't leave as much room for glasses, etc. on the top but okay for most things) and see if that helps. In the upper position the soap door seems to open about 1/2 of the way and allows for more spray to wash it out. When you load the lower rack, be careful not to put something close to the door (large pan or bowl) that would block the spray from the lower sprayer leaving a path for the water to spray up to the dispenser. It should then clean all the soap out each time. Hope this helps.
I read your post, this makes a lot of sense as my wife and I could figure out why it would only happen once in a while.

Kqon, looks like your dispenser has a wax motor. I think the first thing you have to do is remove the inner door and inspect the soap dispensor assy. See if any of the moving parts are broken. This wax motor is 120V so you can run a cheater cord to it to see if it works, but be very careful when doing this. It will expand the plunger and open the flap. If the wax motor operates with 120V applied to it then you want to see if you have power coming from the timer. It will be the tan wire # 27 on the timer harness. You also want to make sure the spring and pin are in place on the dispenser flap. Your part number for the wax motor is 902899. Catriver.

Hi Dirty Dish gang.
After having 2 appliance repairmen here, I now have the latest scoop on our dishwasher problems, $200 later!
Los Angeles IS currently having hard water issues. Also, all the new cleaning gels etc. are actually a cause of our dishwasher problems.
So, here is what we need to do:
1. Use Cascade POWDER detergent only. Make sure is is just "plain" no "scented" or "complete" or gel, etc. (I have tried a phosphate free powder and gel and this is a cause of our problem as well!)
2. Use Jet Dry in the dispenser (set it to a 2-3 opening)
3. Make sure water is at least 120 degrees
4. Only run dishwasher on "normal" setting. All others just run it longer, hence causing more water stains.
5. Do not pre-wash dishes! You can knock of chunks with a "non" soapy brush, but don't rinse (the oils actually help to clean the dishes)
6. Do not wash sponges in dishwasher.
Acid Wash:
The repairman just gave my washer an Acid Wash today.
It says it is an acid derived from lemon, I got mine from Carters appliance in Torrance, CA for about $19.
I am to run a normal cycle with the above mentioned Cascade after this "acid cycle" is finished.
If you are still having problems:
Monthly maintenance:
Glass Magic:
Buy a box of Glass Magic (near the Cascade) Use 1 Tbsb in main detergent compartment of dishwasher along with the Cascade, till washer starts working again.
White Vinegar:
You can run an empty dishwasher with white vinegar once a month. Fill a bowl with 2 cups vinegar and place on bottom rack. Then run as a normal cycle...this allows vinegar to disperse slowly.
So far it seems to be working. Good luck.

Hey friend, thank you for the post!
I understand that your soap dispenser door will not open on your Frigidaire dishwasher, LGBD2432LW0A. You could possibly be seeing an issue with soap dispenser not getting water into it to release the soap from dispensing. I would check to make sure there are no dishes blocking or obstructing the soap dispenser. You could also remove the soap dispenser to clean it and make sure there is no buildup of any previous detergent remaining that would cause the door to not open. If those steps do not solve the issue it could be a problem with the dispenser and I would recommend having a tech come out to the home to properly diagnose and repair the dishwasher. Hope this is helpful. -Matt

We are having a similar problem. The soap door opens but not all the soap is used and the dishes don't get cleaned. An LG technician came out and told us we were using too much soap. We have reduced the the soap we use to just less than a tablespoon. They also told us to occasionally to fill the soap door with vinegar and run the dishwasher without dishes. This has cleaned up the soap scum a little; however, nothing we have tried yet has helped us to get the dishes as clean as we were able to get them when the dishwasher was new.
