I get the same error message. I have run a Clean and Align on the Tools. Everything (including color) comes out fine. But when I try to print, the error message still comes up. the printer is reading:print cartridge problem : (black) .refer to device documentation to troubleshoot. now i didn't get a manual with my hp so how do i fix this problem?

Starting to think these printers are "rigged" Junk. Same issue= First with color, then black. Black came back on it's own..not sure how, just one day it was ok. Tried color again tonight and now both refuse to print.

It's like these printers are intentional designed to refuse to print simply to sell more cartridges. Mine was 2 months old when problem first began and had 2 black sheets printed and about 10 color sheets and ink was not low.

i replaced my black ink cartridge and in doing so, a message appears on the diplay "incompatible print cartridge (tri-color). i cant print anything (black or color).
