In some cases, Windows Media Player will require an appropriate codec to properly play video (and even music files). Here you would need mov codec for Window Media Player.
You can add MOV codec and update others exclusively for Windows Media Player:
* Launch WMP and click "Help"-> "About Windows Media Player"-> "Technical Support Information"-> "Video Codecs"to view all the codecs and file formats supported by the respective codec. Or you can try Leawo Blu-ray Player whichcan support most formats including MOV.

If the files are not big, you can try http://www.zamzar.com/ and convert them to .Avi for playback over the net. Otherwise, try the Rad Videos Tools (Free of Charge), but this requires a working QuickTime install, and can be found here ...

Go to "Filehippo.com" a free software site check through video programmes, you should see a file converter in there. Failing that some of the later Nero DVD writing programmes had a file conversion element. If you've got something like that check all the options.

What codec do i need for my kodak easy share m530 to work with windows live movie maker or is there a movie maker that i can download that will work.

Kodak M530 records video in MOV format which Windows Movie Maker doesn't recognize. Convert the Kodak mov video to avi, wmv format so that it can be played.
You need to download Kodak EasyShare to windows movie maker converter and install it on your PC. Go to www.kodak-easyshare.net for free download.

There are also other freeware convertors. But you may be chasing the wind if pursuing an applicable codec; you might enquire with Kodak but the above information is a quicker path to a result you can live with.

Movie maker software vary in features and ability and range from home movie editing to professional editing. Here are some: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_video_editing_software

I recommend focusing on the task with what you have rather than facing similar problems with alternative software.

Hi i need help here!! ok so i went and installed the program but when i try to import it to windows movie maker it says: "The file C:\Users\Charlene\Desktop\SetupShaderTFX.msi cannot be imported...

If it says to restart, then restart the computer. If that doesn't work try uninstalling and reinstalling the program again. Sometimes installers can be corrupted.
