I have the base with three additional handsets, only two are hooked up, and none of them ring when I get a phone call. They light up to show and incoming call, but no ring.
Phone on Time Warner cable and won't ring. Ring is NOT muted and I set the ring volume fine. Still no ring.Phone on Time Warner cable and won't ring. Ring is NOT muted and I set the ring volume fine. Still no ring.

Without the model number of your Uniden phone, I don't know which silencing feature you are dealing with.
Some Uniden handsets have a Silent Mode. To toggle this on and off, press and hold the # key (below 9) for 5+ seconds when the phone isn't in use. When the silent mode is enabled, the handset will ask for a length of time for the 'no-ring' option. If no key is pressed, then the Silent Mode will continue until the # key is held again.
Other Uniden phones have Do Not Disturb. The button to enable/disable this will be on the cordless phone base. The answering system will automatically turn on and none of the handsets will ring when this feature is enabled.
You can also set the ringer volume to zero. Depending on the phone, you can reset this by pressing the volume up/down buttons or going through the menu. Look for the Ringer Volume in the same section of the menu as the Ring Tone options.
If you need additional information, please add a comment with the model of your phone. I hope this helps.
unplug a/c cord from wall for the base... remove all batteries from handsets ley sit for 10- 15 mins then plug base back in put battery in one handset at a time return handset to base let charge, then reset base station and handset to same settings...
Hello
Just unplug the base unit from AC wall power socket for a while, say for about 5 minutes or so, replugh the base unit to power socket again. Place each handset on it and synchronise it with the base unit. As you put it on, you will hear a beep sound. Now the ahndset ahs been synchronised with base unit. Do this for the other two handsets. OK.
I have the same phone but with two handsets. Incoming calls only ring on the base and I cannot answer or make calls as the handset is permanently flassing "base 1". I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting. Also tried to restart setup but this is showing unavailable although I can still access the phone menus.
The hand-sets are not registered with the base-station. Reset system by: remove batteries, unplug base station, disconnect batteries in all hand sets. Wait 15 minutes. Reinstall batteries in hand sets. Reinstall batteries in base station, plug base station in. Place each hand set in the base station until it automatically registers (usually immediately, or within 1 minute or so).
If that doesn't fix the problem, if possible, return the system to where you bought it for exchange or refund. If that isn't an option, call Thompson help line. They are not particularly knowledgeable, but will authorize a return to the a repair center. The process is slow...
My experience: The two hand sets that came with my system worked perfectly, but none of the three additional handsets I purchased would register. The three additional handsets I purchased were the last three on the my retailer's shelf, so, retail exchange wasn't an option. I contacted Thompson and they authorized return for repair or replacement. The repair center received my handsets on October 29, 2008. Its now November 27, 2008 and I'm still waiting.
Similar issue - brand new phone - but incoming calls (skype or
landline) would ring - and then nothing, and outgoing calls the handset
would just reset.
The handset would just lose signal constantly (less than 2 meters from the base station).
The phone shipped with the latest software - but eventually I
reinstalled it - no change, then de-registered the handset, powered everything down and re-registered the
handset and that *seems* to have done it .....
So
1 - reflash / re-install latest software from philips website (even if the phone already has the same version)
2 - de-register handset (follow instructions)
3 - unplug base station and remove batteries from handset
4 - turn on base station, put batteries in handset
5 - re register handset (follow instructions in manual)
Same problem.
