Go to your video settings or check your function keys to ensure that external monitor is enabled.

why not you use a normal AV cable
instead of hdmi cable

Hi,here is the possible solution......

** you need to connect "Audio Output " as either : "Optic cable output" or "HDMI "connector " of your TV ,
** to "Optic Cable input" or if you have "HDMI input" of your YAMAHA Receiver
** than just switch to respective mode on Receiver corresponding the connector you have used on the back of Receiver ..You can use "HDMI" connection as well but sometimes HDMI creates problem on Audio..I recommend you to use Optic cable..

There you go..your Tv sound are on the YAMAHA receiver as SURROUNDING SOUND .
By this means ,whatever you watch on the TV will come thru your Receiver

You can use either an HDMI cable or a VGA cable to connect your computer to your TV. Your computer has both HDMI and VGA ports. You can use either ports but you cannot use both or else your video card will crash.

We are running our DV-7 with a 20 foot high quality HDMI cable with no frop out or interference. The DV-7 has a decent video chip and will push the signal without incident.

Be sure to have HDMI Controll function turned on in the Setup Menu. But also the DVR and BD player should support this.
For example I have both Toshiba DVD player and Popcron Hour player connected via HDMI to my receiver which is then connected via HDMI to TV. When I turn on DVD, it changes the input on receiver and also on TV. But the Popcorn doesn't support it won't change anything.

If your xbox has HDMI connector then you HDMI cable to connect it to the receiver and another HDMI cable to connect receiver to the TV. Receiver should support both video and audio over HDMI.
If your xbox doesn't have HDMI, connect the video directly to your TV using whatever connector/cable is available (in terms of quality from best to worst: HDMI, component, s-video/scart, composite).
Then connect audio to the receiver via optical spdif cable.

The rx-v663 has 2 hdmi inputs, and 1 HDMI Outputs, The way I would run is 1 HDMI in dedicated to the Blu-ray, This will do the audio HD True digital, DTS-HD , then video out to the TV for HD 1080p resolution, On the cable box out do you have an HDMI 1.3? If so sport it to the other available receiver HDMI IN, net the same in/out as the blue ray, minus a 1080p result video which will only happen Blu-ray, cable will result 1080i HD and audio HD will vary with the signal broadcast format.

If i am not mistaken you can select the HDMI signal going out on the 663, this means you should select to have only pictures to go out as sound will have to be reproduced by the 663.
So HDMI output setup on the 663 should indicate image only, no sound.

hi i had similar problem, you need to change the settings in the bluray player output to hdmi or auto in other to get sound after the settings turn everything off even from the socket and then turn it back on for that setting to take effect. try this
