Want to reset my casio wk-3500 keyboard to factory settings

Easy enough if you can find the part.

2. Cursor down 3 times to "Init Mix"
3. Cursor right to "Init Sys"
4. Press Yes twice
5. When it says "Please Wait", don't press any keys
6. After that, press Exit once and it's ready to go

With IDES4, I can load factory defaults to my WK8000.
WK500 uses DATA MANAGER 5.0. If I am not mistaken, you can only save/restore/delete "user data" from and to the instrument.
FACTORY Settings are always unchanged in the instrument and it reset itself every time you power cycle.

Check the polarity on the adapter plug. It must correspond to the diagram on the keyboard . If it's reversed, just cut and resolder the cable that connects to the keyboard.

My 3500 also has a similar problem. It only switches on if I plug the power and immediately press start . If I wait a few seconds it won't start.

Have you tried signing on to your computer as the administrator? I looked at the support pages at Casio and saw how confusing they are. Look at page: http://support.casio.com/information.php?rgn=5&cid=008&pid=114 and page: http://support.casio.com/information.php?rgn=5&cid=009&pid=115. Pay attention to the red lettering. The computer might be considered as the midi out device and the keyboard as the midi in device or the other way around, I'm not sure. Pretend its a telephone conversation with one person talking and the other person replying. I don't know if this helps but you can also try tech support at Sweetwater Sound (800)222-4700.

You might consider resetting the keyboard to its default values. The steps to follow are in the user's manual. This is a generic fix, but it is a safe way to return the keyboard to the factory settings. Once it's fixed, please allow the little girl to continue playing with it - under supervision of course..
