I have the original media receiver which does not have HMDI inputs for connecting accessories (DVD, SAT, etc.,) to. Has pioneer upgraded the media receiver which now has HDMI inputs for multiple accessories and still is compatible to the 50" plasma screen?

Hello, I to had this problem, and my original media receiver finally died. I did however go to my local electronics store ( I'm not talking about the big box stores) And bought a $7.00 dvi to hdmi adapter. I simply unplugged the "system cables from the back of the media receiver and placed the adapter at the end of the DVI side of the cables, and plugged the now hdmi side into my hdmi splitter box and I am off and running! The only downfall is it does not carry sound only video. But this in not a problem for me as I have a surround sound system. This was a very inexpensive fix for me/ I hope this helps.
TRY BUYING AN 04 RECEIVER IT SHOULD WORK
I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.
Here was the problem.
My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of
course) and found four bulged capacitors.
Many electronics companies were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years
instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail
prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all
sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.
Here are some options for you.
1. Have it fixed by a professional
2. Open your TV and find PSB. Check
for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged
or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board.
3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.
Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself
it will save you hundreds.
I have a tip/tutorial
on this site that may also help. It
gives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. It's
called: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem.
Hope this helps and Good luck.
