Wii Remote will not stay sync with console

Wii Remote will not stay sync. I have resync the remote and it worked fine right through Wii set up. But it will drop out as soon as I selected 'start' in a game or start in mii.

Only 1 remote used. I just bought my wii today......I have used the batteries that came with the box.....

I have also tried the re-sync steps above and have always managed to sync my remote and go through all the Wii set up. But it will only stay sync until I pressed start for a game or start in mii. Then it drops out.

I also found I have to re-sync my remote everytime I turn off my console and restart......

My problem is exactly the same. Each time after entering a game/channel, the wiimote disconnected. I tried 2 wiimotes, same results.

Before this problem occured. I have play Wii for several months.

Have you tried the following? If this doesn't work then pleae provide details on details such as the batterys you are using, number of remotes, etc.
The Wii maunual does not give clear instructions how to reset and sync your Wii remotes. I have found that from time to time my remotes will not sync, especially after they have changed 'order' a couple of times. It appears there is a bug in the code that keeps track of remote codes, and it has a limited buffer for the storage of remote ID's / order. Here are quick step by step instructions how to reset the remote list on the Wii console and re-sync your Wii remotes.

  1. Un-plug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes (60 seconds should do, but leave it off longer to ensure all the power drains).
  2. Plug the Wii back in, and turn on the power button.
  3. Open the panel on the front of the Wii unit. You will see a Red button.
  4. Open the back panel of the Wii remote where the batteries are installed. Beneath the batteries is a small button.
  5. Press and release the small button. The Blue lights on the front of the remote begin to flash.
  6. Press the Red button on the front of the Wii unit.
  7. The Blue lights on the remote should stop flashing after a few seconds. Then one Blue light will remain representing player 1.
  8. Repeat for remote 2, 3 and 4.

No comunacation with remote

Try to resync your Nintendo Wii remote by removing the battery cover on the back and by pressing the red 'SYNC' button. Then afterwards press the SYNC button on the Wii console. If these steps and tips do not work, remove the batteries of the Wii Remote and leave them out for at least 5 minutes. Reinsert the batteries into the controller and try to sync the Wii Remote again. It could also mean that the batteries have stop working and need to be replaced.

Remotes wont work light up but wont stay on ,hit

The red button, is a sync button and not a reset button. You can try resyncing your wii remotes to your wii follow these steps:

  1. Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.

  2. Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote you wish to sync up.

  3. Press and release the SYNC button on the inside of the SD Card compartment on the console. Press and release the SYNC button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote.

  4. When the Player LED blinking stops, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).
You must have batteries in when pressing the red sync button on the wii remote, if your using the wii remote charger system, you must remove it and use batteries until this step is done

Hope this helps. Owen

Remote not talking to console

If your remote is giving out and not allowing you to continue , then yes it could be bad..

But, its hard to tell since you just got the system and the new remote is already bad?

If its not staying in sync, then I would try a different remote before thinking any repair options

My handsets wont sincronise with the system, I have fitted new batteries

Follow this procedure:
1. Turn the Wii console on and wait until the "Health & Safety" screen appears (don't press A).
2. Open the SD Card slot cover on the front of the Wii console, just below the disc drive, and press and hold the red SYNC button for 15 seconds. This will clear all synced Wii Remotes from the console.
3. Resync the Wii Remote by removing the battery cover and pressing the red "SYNC" button. Do this for all Wii Remotes you wish to use, and test for proper response.
4. If the steps above do not work, remove the batteries of the Wii Remote and leave them out for at least 2 or 3 minutes. Reinsert the batteries and sync the Wii Remote again. Test for proper response.
If after removing the batteries for several minutes, and resyncing the Wii Remote, your still unable to get the Wii Remotes to work, try syncing another Wii Remote if available.
* If another Wii Remote works, then your previous Wii Remote will need to be repaired.
* If multiple Wii Remotes do not work, or you only have one Wii Remote, a repair of the Wii console is necessary.

Remote wont work when trying to connect to wii menu

There's two things I know of that could be causing this: either the batteries are too low, or the remote is no longer synced to your console for some reason. The batteries are easy enough to check--just replace them and see if the problem is fixed. If that doesn't work, try resyncing your remote. Each remote has to be synced to your particular console, and won't work on any others. There are buttons you have to press on both the remote and the console that sync the two together--there should be detailed instructions in the Wii manual.

It's problem a radio interference, since the wii controller uses radio frequences to contact the device, try to resync the wii controller.

Wii remote wont work after installing wii fit

From Nintendo:
  1. Turn the Wii console power OFF by pressing the POWER Button on the front of the console. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet for a few seconds. After a few seconds have elapsed, plug the cord back into the wall outlet.

  2. Turnthe power of the Wii console ON. When you see the Health and Safetyscreen, open the small flap on the front of the Wii console to find ared button labeled "SYNC." Press and hold the SYNC Button down for 15seconds. This will clear all the syncs on the Wii, allowing you to geta clean start to begin the process described below.

  3. After holding the SYNC Button on the Wii console down for at least 15 seconds, you can now "re-sync" your Wii Remotes:

    1. Withthe first Wii Remote you wish to sync, remove the battery cover on theback of the Wii Remote to find a small red button just below thebatteries.

    2. Press and release the small red button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote; the blue lights on the front of the Wii Remote will blink.

    3. Quickly press and release the red SYNC button on the inside of the white flap on the front of the Wii console (picture).

    4. When the Player LED blinking stops and stays lit, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).
    5. This sync procedure (steps "a" through "d" above) must be followed for each additional Wii Remote added to the system.
