Question about Philips 50PFP5332 50" 1366 x 768 Plasma HDTV, HDMI, USB, ATSC
Worked perfectly last night. Today, will not turn on. Blue LED light on front of tv is glowing constantly, no blinks. No picture or sound. A series of 3 "clicks" emanates from the rear of the TV. These clicks are continuous if connected to power, so I have unplugged TV for hours and tried to re-set. Did not fix. Called Philips tech support - unhelpful - gave no ideas and was told to call a local tech or buy a new TV :-( Any ideas?
I have a 42in vizio led with about the same problem i replaced a 75 cent chip # u33 on computer board problem fixed.

I have the same problem with my TV. I haven't verified this yet, but someone I know who's a electronics genius told me that its the buttons on the TV (power, channel, volume, etc.) He said at the factory many of the "button boards" were tightened too much and cracked. When you turn the TV on, the clicking noise is a loose connection. He said it's easy to replace yourself, and about 30 bucks on ebay. No promises though.

SOURCE: I HAVE A 50' PHILIPS
This is a plasma unit and philips plasma's are nortorious for bad power supplys, your problem may very well be the power suppy in the television, it is possible you blew a low B+ fuse on the power supply. There is also a issue with the Y-sustain board failing in this model, If you open the back and looking at the unit from the rear the y board is on the left side of the unit and the PS is in the center. disconnect the Y-sustain power plug from the power supply and turn on the unit if the unit stays on with no red light then the y board is bad. it does the same then replace the Power Supply.

Testimonial: "THANK YOU I WILL GET BACK WITH YOU AS SOON AS I TRY THIS"
its the capacitor inside the tv open it up and you should see atleast 1 capacitor which has bulged ( looks like glue coming out of it ) usually a 3000 ~ you can replace these yourself no problem for around 10p each but i do warn you there is a chance you could lose your built in freeview in doing so!
