Here's an MSI lcd cable but make sure it matches the model number on your lcd cable. It did not say it was for megabook S270 but some other models. Most cables go across different models.
one of the logical solutions is that you try to shut down the pc , remove battery and cables & then hold the power button for 8 secs. That way, you can determine if the circuitry of the monitor is functioning. Otherwise , you need to contact MSI for repair..
I have also MSI s270 laptop and its the successor of your laptop with the same parts, i open my laptop many time already changing its memory and cleaning its parts:
heres you need to do:
1. unscrew your latop at the bottom.
2. Remove the battery.
3. remove the plastic covering, the one where the power button is attached.
4. after removing it, you can now unscrew and remove the keyboard, try to clean its carbon head with an eraser.
5. remove also the plastic where the touchpad is attached. clean also its carbon head.
6. return it all back.
Alternatives:
Use external keyboard and mouse (USB).
You need to update the driver for wifi adapter. The driver for the wifi connection you are using in linux is compatible to it but this driver can not get support to your xp sp3 to get compatible.
