Instructions for registering additional new handsets on VTech Model DS6151: Place additional handset on main base. Press HOLD on main base and # on handset. Asks you to de-register. Press no. Registration of additional handset takes place.
I also had this problem and then I found a solution from another site. Just open the handset and remove the battery for about 1 minute. Reinstall the battery and go through the register procedure again - it will register almost immediately. just keep the handset near the base.
trun off phone and remove battery remove power from the base unit and leave them unpluged for 5 mins or more then turn both units on and replce onto base unit . Good luck
After each registration of a handset, you need to hold the page button on the base for 5+ seconds. If you then get an error tone, you'll likely have to return the phone due to a hardware problem. What did you do?
This exact thing happened to me. Same model number. No matter what I did, the new handsets would not register.
The solution? Reset the entire system: 1. On the BASE - Unplug from wall both power and phone line. Unplug battery from base handset. 2. ON the Extension phone - unplug from wall and unplug battery from handset. 3. Wait AT LEAST 5 minutes. 4. Plug back in BASE power. 5. Plug back in BASE phone line. 6. Plug back in EXTENSION handset battery. Don't plug in BASE handset yet. 7. Follow steps to program EXTENSION. When successful: 8. Plug back in BASE handset battery.
Hi :I have the same problem and the dealer couldn't help me .I replaced the battery but that wasn't the solution.Glad to see i'm not the only one with this problem
I had the same problem. What worked for me, after several unsuccessful registration attempts, was to disconnect the phone handset battery for about 1 min and then reconnect the battery. Run the handset registration procedure again. It registered for me on the first attempt after the battery reinstall. Good luck.
