Garbled image on screen

Neovo f-17c has garbled image on the screen. I tested the power supply imput and it has proper voltage. I changed the VGA cable and it did not help. I took the monitor appart and the capacitors appear to be fine. I don't see any hot spots or other obvious signs of trouble.

SOURCE: 19" Proview 900p lcd monitor backlight

The 7812 device is a voltage regulator. Either the reg has failed or the input to the reg is no longer approx 12volts. It should be more than 12volts so that the reg can control the o/p .

SOURCE: LCD Monitor is black... blowing transistors

Bulging or "blown" electrolytic capacitors are a common problem with LCD monitors. If you replaced them with correct parts (voltage rating) then one of two situations comes to mind:
1. Electrolytic caps are polarized, if you install them backwards they will blow quickly.
2. The voltage the circuit provides exceeds the rating of the cap. A 5 volt cap in a 12 volt circuit will blow quickly. The voltage regulation circuit may not be working.

SOURCE: lg2234s monitor goes of blinking...cant turn

emale36, Could be problem with the "switch-mode-power-supply" inside the unit. If dc voltage rail is noisey or marginally on the low side of rated specification then strange things will start to occur on screen. Contact LG (Lucky-Goldstar) if unit is covered by warranty. The unit will need to be evaluated by technician. Visit YOUTUBE to see video clips of monitore being repaired by their owners. Read more of my profile responses to other LCD owners. 12fixlouie

SOURCE: samsung lcd 913v self test ok, no image when vga connected

This problem often occurs in samsung SyncMaster LCD monitors.

The solution is open your look for the LCD monitor power supply module (which have PCB connector to the AC power), on that board look for capacitors, now look for broken one which upper part is bloated, like the image below:

If you find a damaged capacitor as in the picture then you should replace it with the same value.

Using notebook display and external monitor: HP Pavilion zd8205us primary display is garbled, secondary display is clear and good, It doesn't matter which display device you set as primary or secondary

try to switch the blue VGA cable that is connected from the laptop to the external monitor. You may also restart your laptop and set aside the external monitor to check if the laptop is still experiencing garbled display... If it still is, then it is a monitor issue and need to address to HP personnel by calling HP hotline. Otherwise your issue will be resolved by simply doing that..

Display is all garbled on bootup, cannot read image.

Test if it's your graphics chip by connecting a desktop monitor to the laptops serial port, reboot the laptop, and look to see if same thing happens on the external monitor.. If it does, then you have a failing gpu/graphics chip.

Lcd gets garbled everytime i use the charger

Might try to check the voltage output of the power supply pack if within spec or maybe your power supply is at fault. Try other suited charger for your lappy to test.

My display is garbled. I can hardly read the letters because of characters which shows up. Is the video card separate or integrated with the motherboard? Are there available video cards or motherboards...

I don't know any laptops that have separate video cards, they are integrated with the motherboard.
To test if the video card is faulty, connect an external monitor to the laptop's external video connector/port and boot up your laptop. The external monitor may automatically display images, if not you may have to press the blue Fn key plus one of thr function keys to switch the video output to this video port. If you see a clear image the the Video card is OK and the LCD is faulty.
Is the display garbled or it is very dim?
If it is dim and the image is OK then the problem is associated with the backlight. It could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or the CCFL lamp is faulty and 80% of the time it is the CCFL lamp.
The inverter is easy to replace but the CCFL lamp requires more work and soldering skills.

IBM Laptop A31 2652 Garbled video even at initial boot screen

Connect an external monitor to the laptop, power up the monitor first and then bootup the laptop. The Windows image will automatically divert to the external monitor.
If the images is OK then the video card is OK.
From the description of the fault, it indicates that the fault could be a faulty video cable or video connector. Try reseating the video cable/connector on the motherboard.
Get back to me if you still have problems together with any error messages etc.
