Hello,
We just bought a Microsoft Zune player and downloaded the software on our computer. The software could localize our photos and music on the hard disk and it can read all the files. But it could only localize the video files on the hard disk without giving access to them (the Zune repertory is empty: it says Your collection is empty). It refuses to read the files whatever format is used: .wmv, .m4v, .mov, and so on. When we try to open a file, we always get the message that it cannot read it because it doesn't take charge of that type of support (word to word translation form French). The error code is : C00D1B83.
Our computer is equipped with Windows XP Pro, it has enough memory, the processor is appropriate.
I had the same problem... To fix it, I deleted all the videos on my zune. Then, from my computer, I drag and dropped them back onto the zune one at a time. It worked.

You have to use the Zune Software to sync the music, pictures, or videos to your Zune. The software can be found here: http://www.zune.net/en-us/products/software/default.htm. It may take a while to download, depending on your internet connection. While it is downloading, you should make an account for your zune. Drag the files from your music collection to the Zune icon in the left corner, while it is plugged in, and your Zune will sync. After it is finished, unplug it, and your done. You may have to tell the Zune software where your files are on the hard drive, located in the settings page of the software.
No. You cannot take music off your zune and put it on another computer. You will need to copy your music files found under My Documents, My music, zune. put it onto a large flash or external drive. Then install the zune software onto the other computer i havent done so already. Take the files you copied and paste them back into the zune folder on the computer. You might have to reauthenicate music that you have downloaded. Just log in and it should be fine
You shouldn't have to install the driver yourself! Uninstall and Delete all files connected to your Zune (except your music files!). Now, plug your Zune in, and the computer should locate/install all the necessary drivers and software needed to operate your Zune. Then, you can format/personalize the Zune software the way you want. The computer downloads the drivers for you! Try that! It should work wonderfully!
The Zune software lets you add to your collection audio and video in a variety of formats and codecs. Just download media from the Web or rip songs from a CD, and the Zune software automatically adds the downloaded (and ripped) items to your collection and syncs them to your device.
The Zune software will convert many video formats during sync so they can play on your Zune device. This automatic transcoding can take a while.
Hi,
I assume you are talking about downloading the Zune software.
You can download zune software from here.
http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=7313338
I may not need Windows media player 11 when you have Zune software.
I hope you just want to access yours Zune player to download and upload media files.
Hope it helps.
cheers,
Uninstall all zune software and download and install it again. Possibly a bad download.
Or run error check on your computer then try it again.
Go to my computer, right-click on C: - go to properties- then go to TOOLS tab. Click on Error check - make sure you have both boxe(s) checked to fix errors as they are found then hit start. You will have to restart your computer for this check to happen. Usually takes a a few hours, but recommended to do at least once every few months.
Download and install the latest zune software from microsoft. Run the new zune software, plug your zune into the computer and it should prompt you to install the latest firmware automatically. This is all that is necessary with the majority of firmware problems.
just google "Zune video converter" to get ahold of a converter... the first link is usually fine...
After you get the conversion you just toss the converted file into a folder monitored by the Zune software and it will pick it up automatically. From there you right click the name of the file in the Zune software and click "transfer to zune"
