It fills with water and you can hear some noise and the timmer is still working but nothing else. it doesnt wash rinse drain or spin.
The draining problem could be something stuck in the pump. A easy fix just take it apart and get whatever is in it out of there. The agitator sits atop an agitator drive block. The spline on these tends to strip out. Yank off the agitator (it just snaps on) and replace the drive block.

SOURCE: washer will not spin
normally i would suggest changing motor carbons for hotpoint washers, but my experience is that the WMA motor armature is weaker than the carbons, normally if there is no connection fault a replacement motor is the answer 9 times out of 10, not a job for the amature
SOURCE: fills washes rinses but wont spin properly or empty out
its likely the pump is blocked (hence the humming) with a coin or some foreign object. To check, lower the outlet hose to ground level to allow the water to empty. Tip machine back & lean against a wall, remove the pump & remove object if there is one! Reassemble & try machine again
SOURCE: wf340 hotpoint washer
it will be to do with the pressure switch it may be faulty, but more often than not there is a blockage in the pressure chamber which is located at the bottom of the outer drum, check the chamber and the tube that goes up to the pressure switch to see if they are blocked if they are clear of obstruction then test the pressure switch,to do this unclip the pressure switch from the side of the machine but dont take the wires off once off pull the tube off that goes down to the pressure chamber once off blow in to the nossle on the pressure switch, you should hear it click and then when you release it should click again, if it doet click twice then that is your problem, hope that helps.
