In an answer to your problem, fuse could possibly be good and not blown

basing on your post "
TV turns on then turns off right away "

A fault or two have been detected so the TV will automatically shut off

to prevent further damage.

You will be needing tools, equipment , good vision and a lot of

patience when working with TV.

here is a troubleshooting guide should you need to DIY

Flyback Transformer

My monitor blacks out every time it turns on. Right now i can turn the monitor on and off several times and then eventually it will stay on. Why doesn't it turn on right away?

It may have dying power supply due to bad caps.
If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

standby sont tv?...you need to open the back cover of your tv..check whether you fuse are blown/open...if yes,do not replace right away the fuse there might be a problem on the main supplys...using yuor multitester check your horizontal output transistor..it is located near the plyback transformer..if you do not now the correct testing of the transistor replace it with a new transistor...same with the regulator replace it with a new one...then replace the fuse ..your tv is now working again..

We didnt have a surge protector on our tv we purchased from home shopping net. and lihtning came in the line and i guess hit our tv can it be fixed or is it worth fixing price wise i hate to throw it away...

Look at the power supply module, most of them will have a surge protection devices (called MOV, same as used in common surge power strip but cannot handle big surge that power strip can handle) installed to protect minor surge, it should blow the fuse. Once MOV blown, it will more likely stay short circuit, if you put the new fuse in it will blow the fuse right away. You need to see if the MOVs blew up any sign of blown up components.

My zenith big screen tv won't come on model pvr5263dt

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. This might have happened due to over-voltage. Please check the power supply unit for swollen capacitors and burnt wires/components on the power supply board of your TV. You should try and turn off the TV for 8-10 hours to reset it. This issue might have occurred due to blown pico fuses located on the D-Board or due to blown fuse on the power supply board.

Please do rate the solution & revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Blinker stopped working, but the hazard lights still work - I think it's a blown fuse but how and where do I fix the fuse

There is 2 different flashers. One flasher for the turn signals and one flasher for the hazards. If you turn on the turn signals and the turn indicator on the dash lights up but doesn't blink, then most likely it is the turn signal flasher that is bad. Good luck.

Rca tv won't power on

it may need a Flyback Transformer or a burnt capasitor and resistors. there are many posts with this same problem. Some a little different. Check the fuse just inside where the power supply cord goes in . if the fuse is blown you will have to find the reason it burned . But maybe you will be lucky and replace the fuse. And it will turn on. but I think that only a TV technician can fix the problem.I have a background on TV repair and I think it's the Flyback transformer. sometimes you canresolder them and they stay.

Power surge I think

If you do not get any clicking or sound when trying to turn on the TV set, most likely the main fuse went out. This is almost always due to something else blowing out along or making the fuse to blow out. DO NOT SIMPLY REPLCE THE BLOWN FUSE! If there is other shorts inside the set, and you replace the blown fuse, you can cause more damage to the TV set. The best way to test this set if the fuse is blown would be to hook up a 100 to 150 watt light bulb across the blown fuse, and if there is a short in the TV set the light bulb will glow bright and stay bright. If the bulb lights up and goes dim maybe just maybe you got luck so replace the fuse and see what happens. If the light bulkb stays bright, there is a short in the set somewhere and if you do not have a service manual and a good multimeter and a knowledge of how the TV power supply works, you really should call in a pro to assist you in the repair of this TV. there is just too much High Voltage inside these TV sets to be experieenting around inside of it. Good Luck.
