When your using a phone with the a button for talk and end usually you can press the talk button and it will switch lines. on other models the phone will have a button marked Flash this would be the button to use. if you are using rotary phones you quickly tap the button that hangs up the receiver this will switch to the other line.

I recently got this old "Panasonic Easa Phone KX-T2835" from a thrift store and my phone only rings twice before my answering machine picks up. How can I make my phone wait till 4 or 5 rings before it...

Have you tried erasing all the (incoming) messages on the machine? Does that let it ring the full 4-ring-cycle before it picks up?

It's been years since I owned one of these, but there should be a switch (on the side of the unit?) for a feature called "toll saver" If you find this, switch it off.

The idea was from the days of payphones -- if the machine had no messages, it would ring 4 times before it picks up. If there were messages, it would pick up after one ring (or sometimes two)

If you were out on the town and wanted to check your messages, you'd put your dime in a payphone and call home. If it rang three times, you can hang up the payphone and get your dime back, knowing there's no message to check.

Making the date and time show after the phone rings.

Sounds like you have several issues here...Time & date is set by entering the DB Administrator, then using the code 08-14. Feature69 defaults a set, not the time. The incoming display is normal, as you are a member of the first UCD group. When you pick up the phone, it shows ICM because you are in intercom mode. There are 3 different ITCM modes: green, red, blank. Your extension button lights red because it's an indicator that you are on the phone.

Have the 6408D+ phone. Got a Plantronics CS55 Wireless Headset.

You can use an handset lifter accessory, such as the HL1 or HL10 to pick up the handset every time you need to use the headset.

Call waiting problem

The flash time is set too short to activate the call waiting. You'll need to make it longer. Try the following to change the flash time.

1. Press the MENU button while in standby mode.
2. Use the < REVIEW > button to scroll to SET PHONE OPTIONS.
3. Press the SELECT/SAVE button.
4. Use the < REVIEW > button to scroll to SET FLASH TIME.
5. Press the SELECT/SAVE button.
6. Use the < REVIEW > button to scroll through the flash time options. You may choose 100ms or 600ms.
7. Press the SELECT/SAVE button to save.

setting the flash time to 500ms should get it working right.

If this help, please rate my advice. Thanks, and good luck!!
