Screen goes blank before i can key in pin number

unscrew it and change the flex to enable it view programms

Try for me something

1- Remove the battery
2- Press " * " and " # " keys together and hold them .
3- Put battery Back .
4- and keep holding the keys for few seconds ,

and Let's see if you can see something on the screen
If something appears like phone versions boot versions bla bla ..

Your phone got a software problem , you have to ask another topic with sw informations ..

Otherwise phone LCD might be broken but mostlt i would say it is flex cable problem .

Try taking your battery out over night and let it sit..then in the morning put it back in and see if that cures the issue.

replaced the flexcable on the phone to have it fix

I took the battery out and check the battery pins and took a pen to lift up the pins. Clean the battery tips. Work for me all the time. Good luck

this problem has probably occured due to the phone being knocked. i used to have a motorola l7 slvr and it did exactly the same, i found that if you hit the back of the phone fairly hard the screen would come back on. im not sure if it is the same for the razr but hey its worth a try. ti be honest i think motorola are terrible mobile phone manufacturers but great 2way radio manufacturers

My RAZR V3 has done that also.

Taking out the battery for a few minutes and then putting it back in and turning it back on usually fixes the problem for me. Once I had to take out and reseat the SIM chip also before putting the battery back in.

If those suggestions don't fix it, let me know.

its either you have a problem in your phone flex connector or worst your LCD is defective...

change the ribbon(flex) cable.take it to technician.common problem with v3 and v3i

Did you try a new battery yet? What is the reason he did not use it anymore? I would try the easy stuff first before proceding to anything radical.
