I just bought the Krups KP2100. It was a display model and the machine does not make the coffee very hot. Can I increase the temperature? Or do I need to replace the thermostat or heating element or both?

If you find water in the spend grounds drawer or with the cup grid out you see water being dispensed into the drip tray your brew unit needs repair or replacement. If none of that is happening the tube that brings hot water to the brew unit is clogged.

Mine had the same problem ... all the lights are on, but no heating on the plate, and no dripping of water.
After a weekend on the workbench, I've mastered this machine. The KM7005 has 2 x MicroTemp G4 thermal cutoff (TCO) fuses which interrupt the Live line, for overheat protection. Mine didn't overheat per se, but the TCO blew anyway. Not reset-able ... need to be replaced with a soldering iron. I'll be happy to advise you to fix this, or fix it for you. This is both as a result of a broken seal and some blockage. All you have to do is get the device serviced and the problem will be solved. Usually you can service it at any dealership close to you.
