Help...i cant delete songs, using windows media player
Hi. The minimum requirements of your Sansa E250 is Windows XP and above and Windows Media Player 10 and above. If you're using Windows Media Player 10 or above, your Sansa E250 and its contents should appear on the right pane when you click on the "Sync" tab. You can right click on a song and select "Remove". The songs will be erased permanently from the player. If your songs do not appear on Windows Media Player 10 or above, it is possible that your songs may have been saved on another mode. Your Sansa E250 comes in 2 modes: MTP and MSC. Songs saved on one mode will not be seen by the other mode, and vice versa. There are 2 ways to delete songs from your Sansa E250: By browsing the folders containing the songs, or by formatting the player. You can switch modes by navigating your E250's menu using the following: Menu >> Settings >> USB Mode Next, plug your player in your PC and open Windows Explorer. You should first set your Explorer to "Show hidden Files and Folders" by going to the "Tools" menu (located on menu lists on Windows Explorer window), then choosing "Folder Options", then enabling the "Show Hidden Files and Folders" radio button Deleting Music files under MTP Mode: 1. Your player should appear as a Sansa E250 icon in Explorer as a "Portable Audio Device". Double left-click this icon to browse the player. 2. You'll find a "PPI NAND" sub-folder. Again, double left-click on this sub-folder. 3. You'll find a series of sub-folders, one of which should be titled "Music". Double left-click this to open it. 4. Your music should appear as individual files or folders. Delete this to remove the file(s) from the player Deleting Music files under MTP Mode: 1. Your player should appear as a Drive letter and entitled either as a "Removable Drive" or as "Sansa E250" 2. Double left-click on this drive letter to browse the player 3. You may find your music files immediately on this folder, or you'll find a series of sub-folders, one of which should be titled "Music". Double left-click this to open it and view your music files. 4. Delete the music files you want, and they should be removed from the player Deleting files through Format: 1. Formatting the player erases all files in the player, and oftentimes this is the best option to ensure that all files are removed and any corruption eliminated. Also, it is best to format the player when in MSC mode. 2. When the appears as a drive letter (under MSC mode), right-click on that drive letter and select "Format". On the "Format" pop-up window, click "Start" to begin the format process. 3. Follow the on-screen prompts and safely remove the player from your PC when the "Format Complete" display appears. 4. Unplug the player from the PC and when the player is powered up, the message "No Files" should appear on the player's LCD screen 5. Switch the mode back to "MTP", or continue to use "MSC". Note: It is best to use "MTP" when you are transferring subscription music to the player. I hope this helps. :)
The Other Way is That YOu can open your Players Drive and Delete each song. you do that by clicking my computer then tthe player, then the music folder then right click the song and choose DELETE . And If you want to delete everything at one whole time just right click on the player and Choose FORMAT.Hope This Works.
Go to tools and click Folder Options. Then change the settings to unhide the hidden folders. Go to music and delete those songs.

Now here is my problem: I have followed and tried all the sansa forums on deleting these files. The files are the ones that were downloaded with the Rhapsody trial period.
Now when I connect the drive either as the Sansa E250R in Rhapsody mode all the files are in the MUSIC directory and I can delete them but when system is turned off then on they are back. When I try to format the sansa the message comes back “Format incomplete”. I even deleted the 5500 file that was referenced somewhere.
The same thing happens when I put it in PlaysForSure mode and it is displayed as PPI NAND. Deleting files and trying to format.
I have also run chkdsk /f and chkdsk /r when it was showing up as the E250R on the E: drive.
Now when it is in PlaysForSure mode and I try and format the screen on the sansa shows the word “writing”; however, the FORMAT error is “The device was unable to complete the format”. When disconnected it states that not enough space for MUSIC DB. Please free 6MB. The displayed on the screen is ”Database had to be repaired. Connect to your PC to refresh database.
I am using Windows XP SP2 to do all these things.
The sansa e250r was purchased for Christmas 2007 and connected to Rhapsody on 12/27/2007 and the subscription expired on 01/26/2008. I have since been trying to delete these files or format the sansa on and off since then to make room for new music.
Whenever it is turned on whether or not the mode was set to Rhapsody or PlaysForSure this message “ALWAYS” comes up. Your subscription tracks have expired. Connect to your PC to renew. It is these subscription tracks that I cannot get rid of.
I have even deleted the .rax files and they come back after power off then on.
When I try a recovery mode it comes up with: Enter USB2.0 MSD mode. I am not sure what I need to do at this point – what I need to do for a recovery. The computer shows it is a 16MB- FORMAT and properties show Used 48.0 KB and Free Space as 15.2
cant delete music from device
The songs are copied multiple times and whenever i click to play the song it show that the song is 0 minutes long.
i used to be able to add and delete songs... but know i can only add... how do i delete unwanted songs??
my windows no longer reads my sandisk because i need to remove 6 dbs of space. but i can't remove it without windows. is there away to remove songs straight from the sandisk?
Hi, I have an expired rapsohdy subscription and I can't delete the songs off of my sansa e250r player. I can load songs onto it via windows media player but it says I need to connect to my computer to clear up the other songs. Problem is, I have a new computer now so I don't have any of the Rhapsody downloaded on this one. Is there any way at all to get rid of these expired tracks???
Please Help.
