Your VGA port is connected to a video card. Pull the top off of the computer, pull out the card, buy a new one and slip it back in. Done deal.

How do i hook up my dell E5400 to my samsung tv

Connect your VGA cable (the blue one) to your laptop in the VGA port. (will look like this: 11_29_2012_6_48_11_pm.jpg)
Then, plug the other end of the VGA cable into the back of the TV. (Port should look the same.) At that point, you're going to have to switch the input on your TV to PC.

How do I connect my Laptop Acer 5735 to my TV Sony KDL-40NX700, what kind of connection cables do I require?

If Your TV and Laptop have HDMI Port then you just need a HDMI Cable.
But if you dont have HDMI port. then you need two cables one from video and one for audio.
For Video you either VGA Cable(if you have VGA Port in your TV) or VGA to RCA Cable (Yellow Pin will be for video)
For audio You Need 3.5mm pin to RCA (white and Red for audio).

OK, mini display port to VGA adapter-is the VGA cord the one that goes into the port labeled RGB and audio on the back of the Samsung? Sorry to be a dummy but Samsung monitor is 6 years old and has always...

An RGB port is for a component cable not a VGA cable. A VGA cable, similar to a component cable, only carries a video signal but is a 15 pin cable that nearly all monitors and HDTVs support. Most laptops have a VGA out port.
You should be able to connect your laptop to almost any monitor (not sure about your Samsung) with a male to male VGA cable.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa.

No VGA

you may check your port since this laptop has HDMI cable. VGA port has a colored blue port at the back of it. If you don't have that, you may try the HDMI cable and connect it to the television screen. You may consult acer if you want to have VGA cable available.

We have a panasonic 32"inch lcd tv.we want to

hdmi Ports Qty 3 port(s) PC Interface VGA (HD-15) HDCP Compatible Yes

I read your tv has 3 hdmi ports and a PC input.

if your pc has hdmi out - the you use a hdmi cable from the pc to the tv on one of the hdmi inputs.

if your pc has a 15pin vga cable you can unplug from your PC monitor (or go buy a VGA cable if you want to keep one on the tv and one on your pc monitor - or if you are using a laptop).

when you unplug the computer from the monitor .. check the pins - should look to be about 15 pins in the connector. it that will plug into the tv- then you are using a vga cable. if it will not plug into the tv pc input .. don't force it. It could be a dvi connector . .take the cable off the PC and to radio shack and they can fix you up (you need a dvi to vga cable - not likely, but possible)

I always turn off a pc before disconnecting monitors - and plug into the other display before turning the pc back on.

Good luck.
Bill.

No video output on IBM Intellistation PRO M, model 34G. How do I figure it out? Replaced vci card with pci vga card.

To confirm if your external vga card is defective you should turn off your pc then remove it, then turn it back put your vga cable from monitor in the built in vga port in you pc. or else after turn on press numlock twice or more if its work then external vga is the problem.

Floating box says check signal cable

plug the blue cable connection into the VGA port (also blue) on the back of the PC and then turn it on. If you have multiple VGA ports and it doesn't work the first time try the other port.

If the cable is white check that you have a white DVI port on the back of your PC and use that port.
