Amana NED7200TW Electric Dryer Logo
Anonymous Posted on Sep 18, 2012

Hi I have a Amana ned7200tw dryer. My wife informed me it is taking to long to dry a load of clothes. The first thing I checked was the vent.I checked it from the vent screen to the discharge and all was free of lint.then I checked voltage and that was 240.So then I cycled the dryer on manual temp. thinking that mybe the dry sensor mybe faulty. What I did observe that the heating coil would come on for about 17 seconds and off for about 2 minutes almost like it was on a delicate cycle. There are no error codes.Could this be a thermistor, thermostat,or fuse problem?Thankyou

If the element is fine then you have a sensor problem. there are only a few of them. Best just to replace them all. They usually all come in one pack anyway.

Amana NED7200TW dryer. Has heat, tumbles, clothes don't dry. Vents have been gone through and cleaned. This happens in the sensor dry and time dry modes. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Just a question. Does your blower work. If your blower does not work it won't dry. Check blower belt. Mine broke and had no air blowing. Just a thought.

I keep getting an error code that looks like 2 C's. The dryer is still drying but it will finish and shut off and then turn back on. What does this mean?

I have an Amana Dryer, ned7200tw. It was taking forever to dry clothes, took twice through per load. We replaced the heating element 2 days ago, cleaned all the lint while it was apart, and it is still...

Did you check the trap door on the outside of the house where the vent goes outside. If the door is stuck or the end of the vent is blocked you will get excessive dry time like you are having. Also possibly a thermostat inside starting to go bad and sticking.

Our NED7200TW intermitantly won't shut down when the clothes are dry. Every 4-6 loads, it just keeps drying. It stops upon opening the door and turning off switch. the first time this happened, I...

try looking at the moisture sensor strips. usually inside the under the door area. two strips that sense moisture as the clothes roll by. these may be broke, shorted or need replaced?

The timer keeps readjusting while drying clothes, will say there is 45 minutes left and clothes are perfectly dry, this could be a fire hazard if left unattended.

you will need to clean the vent tube/internal duct work:

The thermostat tells the dryer to heat until the interior of the dryer reaches a pre-set temperature then the thermostat tells the timer to begin advancing. The timer advances until the interior cools, then the thermostat tells the timer to stop advancing, and tells the dryer to start heating again.

if the vent/duct work is clogged then the
dryer may never reach the proper operating temperature, so it doesn't send the signal to the timer and the dryer continues to run indefinitely, even if the clothes are completely dry.

I hope this helps here is a website on how to remove cabinet:

Dryer is not heating up to dry clothes

The spark ignitor maybe at fault. Listen for the clicking noise upon starting it up the first 30 seconds it runs. If not heard it is in need of a replacement

I think The dryer takes very long time to dry clothes

Hello,

Very common problem. You need to call a
duct cleaning company and tell them to clean
your dryer vent. Rule-of-thumb: dryer vents
should be cleaned every couple of years to
prevent them from being clogged with lint and
causing lint fires. This is definitely your problem.
Good luck :)

p.s. one way to verify a clogged vent is
to go outside where the vent exits the house
and feel the air-flow. should have adequate air-flow.
