your laptop was getting hot right? fans running loud right? then you have a GPU problem, your graphic chip is dead. it needs a new graphic chip.
Try connecting to an external monitor if display screen is only showing half of my desktop, the other half goes black or flickershalf of my desktop, the other half goes black or flickers various colors then it is the video card if not....have ur display screen changed.
first i confirmed that the problem was in lcd.then i predicted that some display chip on the motherboard are getting heat.due to which the display was performing irregular then i switch on A/C of my room.and the temperature was cool. and the monitor was working fine.
First attach laptop to an external monitor and using the FN/ F keys toggle back and forth to the external display. If the external works OK then the video display adapter is fine and the problem is the TAB welds on the LCD. Time for a new LCD.
if it is just half of the screen and the rest is black- you need a new screen. If it is half the screen all squished together (you can see the whole desktop) you need to reload the video driver
