Problem with cooling and fan on frige

Our refrigerator is no longer cooling properly. It still cools, but it does not get cool enough. The fan in the freezer does not seem to be coming on. We defrosted it and cleaned the coils on the bottom, but it still has this problem. The ice maker is not working. The water in it gets frozen, but it will not make ice.

The common miss conception is that your fridge isnt cooling when it is cooling sooo well it is frosted up your evaporator that eventually acts like an insulator and will not absorb any more heat out of the fridge, thats why the beer is warm and the milk sour.. how the manufacturors satop this from happening is defrost mode as im sure you know about but is one of the components fail in that system your evaporator will not "self clean" and eventually warm the fridge.. if you cant fix the problem or are waiting for parts unplug the fridge over night with the door open and you should fix the problem temperarily. heater, timer, and the dtt (defrost thermostat) are the most likely causes. that is if it is an older style fridge that doesnt have an electronic board built into it.. happy cooling sincerely VeeDubb anymore questions if that doesnt help [email protected]

My frige & freezer do not cool, light & freezer fan run, compressor & coil fan do not run,air is blowing out of air vent in freezer,no cooling at all

If the compressor isn't running, the refrigerator or freezer won't cool - period. Hopefully, by now, you've had a repair technician come and troubleshoot the problem.

It is not cooling as well as it does usually. The freezer is cooling at frige temperture and the frige side is hardly cooling.

Whirlpool Wrn38rwg6 frige has decided to not cool properly

My first thought is it defrosting? Look into rear of the freezer and see if ice is building up on rear wall of freezer. If yes manually defrost and let me know what you find. If no I would want you to feel compressor for overheating or look and see if a fan has stopped working while compressor is running. Sea Breeze

Refrigerator compartment cools correctly for a few days then no longer receives cold air from freezer. The freezer continues to operate and gets much colder than it should.

does your fan blow? freezers have a fan that pushes cold air to the fridge side if fan is bad freezer will run extremely cold and fridge won't cool down and since frige won't cool down thermostat in fridge doesn't tell compressor to stop

Refrigerator wont cool properly & frost free freezer is freezing up

The compressor, the evaporator fan, and the condenser fan have to be running for it to cool properly. All the cooling takes place in the freezer and the cold air has to be pushed into the fridge to cool it, so the air ducts into the frige have to be clear or open. Only 10% of fridge problem are with the sealed system. Sealed system problems are the very expensive repairs you want to stay away from, so 90% of the time they are worth fixing.
